I just failed my AP Physics B exam, no doubt about it. Didnt study at all but the final was so easy (didnt study) and got an 82. Damn i wish i studied for this exam! Shit was hella hard.

Science AP exams are completely over the top and they ask such a narrow range of questions compared to the topic. Most teachers are at a loss as how to prepare their students because there is no way to predict what will be on it. The Chemistry exam in 2011, was completely awful, I was told by a colleague who has taught AP for 20 years that it was the worst she had seen!

Since when did the Inglorious Basterds had the goal to be factually right? It is as if you argue that LOTR isnt good because Orcs dont exist!

For what the overall purpose was, it is one hell of a movie. It is not exactly about WW2, it is there only for some context (strong context, but still not the main focus of the plot). It has no intention to be verisimilar, the whole world is caricatured. Everything is a bit or very odd, including (and specially) the Basterds. The acting is good, the dialogues are even better and the sequence of events are incredibly smart (the smartest of stories and the ones that naturally follows its desired path without making the viewer think too much). There is nothing to not like about this movie, only if you dont understand the essence of it!

The problem with people that dont like Inglorious Basterds is because they are too narrow minded...

EXATCLY! Our school (which is ranked 5th ij NJ) had the lowest amount of kids pass AP Chem last year. That class is crazy! I was talking to Juniors about it and they all said that the jump from regular chem to ap is ridiculous.

They asked (on the test i took today) such in depth questions for ALL the M/C questions, it was cray, i was luky i just finished. Honestly need to just pray i got a 3, no shot at a 4 like i was hopin.

And yes, you're correct. It can be tricky for a native English speaker to pronounce that properly since Finnish is so much different to English. I believe @manpe got the hang of it in the name change thread as the Estonian language is quite similar to Finnish.

I think it would be better to offer a second year of Chemistry instead of AP. My last year at my school, I switched my honors chemistry kids (year 1) to the same book as AP, so that they could do the first 1/2 of the book and then in AP finish the darn thing! It is not strictly how they want it taught but it was the best way we could do it because our traditional kids did not need the in depth content. The kids from that honors class, rocked the AP exam last year. It was bittersweet for me to have them do that under another teacher! When we go back to the US, I won't teach AP again. As much work as it is from a student stand point, it is equal from a teaching stand point! It was awful and I was exhausted!

I might get it my best friend is Finnish she is constantly teaching me Finnish words... But I am a poor student, my brain cannot cope with Finnish and Mandarin!

The movie is exactly a parody!

How could you be expecting a more serious movie when the openning scene is already an absurd in itself?

The whole idea of the movie is to cleverly play with a lot of stereotypes that surround WW2...

Cant you see how everything is over the top in the film?

Each Basterd's background, the German movie actor/soldier, the rughness of both sides, Hitler is always overly screaming or smiling, the French culture clash, the racism presented in the helper inside the cinema, the tavern and Germans having fun, Brad Pitt accent, etc.

The ending was purposily chosen to be as far apart from the reality as possible. Hence Hitler is killed in a horrendous way (a clean death would be naturally the option, but everything is caricaturated in the movie).

This all shows how it has no intention to be factually right!

And that puts me off really. There were some really intense moments - Shoshanna meeting Waltz after years and the bar incident etc, but it was overshadowed by the parody it was. Maybe you can look past the unrealism and enjoy the film, I just cant!
