Chelsea looking to add Serie A star to Mata signing

Chelsea will make a move for Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetic as soon as the deal for Juan Mata has been finalised...

...Although initially valued at around the £20m mark, Villas-Boas is confident that he can pick up the hitman for as little as £10m.

So these guys want 20 mil. for him? He is a LW!(far as I know). I have always liked him and he'll fit on a hairstyle basis with Luiz...Hope we sign him if everything fails with Hazard.

Caughtoffiside but nice all the same!

CHELSEA have had a £14m offer for Fiorentina star Stevan Jovetic rejected.

The Italian giants have slapped a £20m asking price for the Montenegro striker.

And Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas is considering making a renewed bid for the player this week.

SOURCE: Daily Star

Stevan Jovetic has scored 9 goals and supplied 4 assists for his team-mates in 15 Serie A games this season.

The 22 year-old has demonstrated considerable potential for a long time, but his progress was held up by a cruciate knee ligament injury that ensured he missed most of last season.

Jovetic is comfortable on the left of a three man forward line, or up front himself, and his ability with both feet makes him a difficult opponent to defend against.

It is thought that Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas wants the Montenegro forward to cut in from the left flank, and will eventually move Juan Mata back into central midfield to the Xavi playmaker role that seems earmarked for him.

That would leave a front trio of Fernando Torres with Jovetic and Daniel Sturridge on either side cutting in.

Jovetic signed a new contract with Fiorentina as recently as last November, but if the Daily Star are correct, Chelsea are determined to convince him to move to West London.

Sounds good.
