Even Nkunku more likely to play.

ZAPHOD2319 4,823
One of those two days was Monday, Maresca gave the entire squad the day off for more rest. Never a good sign that Lavia is not in training. Vesper

DDA 9,983
Wonder what number J.Pedro will be wearing. Might have to cop the away shirt with his name and number on the back.

ZAPHOD2319 4,823
No Caicedo, possibly no Lavia. I would rather see Essugo in there.

Pizy 18,985
So how good are Palmeiras compared to the teams we’ve played so far? Should we be worried with no Caicedo and likely no Lavia?

Should we be worried with no Caicedo and likely no Lavia? Checking the statistics of the last two season, Palmeiras and Flamengo(who beat us in the groups) are head-to-head, very close. From what I saw from both teams, my impression is: Flamengo is a harder team to beat for a European club. They have a coach and a few key players with respectable European resume(Danilo, Alex Sandro, Jorginho, Pulgar, Araujo, Everton, Pedro). Palmeiras is a younger team with some very talented but raw players, their football seems to be kind of ad hoc. I expect we will beat them with less sweat. Maybe similarly to ECL final, we'll get in trouble but ultimately we will overcome by quality and experience. In the semis, though, Flamengo or Al-Hilal will be tough cookie. LAM09 7,069
I see there's talk that Neto could be excused from tomorrow's match (completely understandable). I'd say he's been our best attacking player in this tournament by some distance. All I hope is that Delap starts without question. Jackson has to atone at some point for his behaviour. No more excuses about replacements not being available either.

If he delivers on the field tho like most i'd let slide what he does with his finger and thumb. Not me. It's a simple thing to ask of a footballer. Being a figure of influence is one of the burdens which come with his extraordinarily well paid job. No one imagines that people will want a gun because they see a footballer do the pistols celebration but it's a question of cultural normalisation. Because of cultural normalisation tens of millions of Americans think it normal and sensible and wise to arm themselves with weapons of war. Not even tens of thousands of gun deaths every year are enough to overcome their addiction to firearms. We must resist every single step that might take us down the road the Yanks have travelled. No matter how small that individual step might be. Edited July 4 by OhForAGreavsie bigbluewillie
