Dominate the run of play, can’t score to save our lives, and then utterly shambolic defending at the other end resulting in us being punished for EVERY little mistake. And this doesn’t look like a small blip, either. We well and truly have looked shattered and completely devoid of ideas out there these last 3 matches. ZERO attacking quality in the final third at all apart from the odd Palmer shot from distance. We’re in trouble now. Losing and failing to score against a side who have leaked goals all season, had ZERO wins at home, and 2 wins all season. Humiliating. What looked like a comfortable place in the top 4 before now looks like well fighting desperately just to scrape 4th by the end of the season. erinblue 27 Posted December 30, 2024 Share Posted December 30, 2024 Too many are overrated & think they're there even Palmer...tries something & it comes off he's brilliant, goes missing too many games....when he does he needs to be removed....too many slow passes just like past few years, won't win games knocking it around your own back line & then can't compete when opposition put pressure on.....must be slowest 3 defenders in England... Lots of work to do yet. I hope Maresca gives them a bollocking, not enough urgency at 1-0 down in the second half never mind at 2-0 down. Disasi, Tosin & Colwill should be embarrassed with how they did up against Liam Delap in particular too, aye hes a decent player but honestly its almost as if they made him look like Didier at his peak 😂 Not very often I will say this either but he should of took Palmer off at HT too. For whatever reason he struggled a lot. He has played a lot of games this year. I get why he didn’t because he can deliver some quality but he looked leggy out there. Magic Lamps 11,692 Posted December 30, 2024 Share Posted December 30, 2024 I don’t think it is that deep. We have failed vs deep buses and low midfield blocks time and time again these past 7 years. This season went better at the start bc a lot of teams (for whatever dumb reason) tried to match us blow for blow and got a bloody nose. Everton, Fulham and Ipswich all packed the box with defenders, forced us wide and blocked everything we threw at them. With luck, a little help from the refs and that poor Defense of ours this is a blueprint that gives every team in the league a more than decent fighting chance against us. Just Delap running around like a maniac by himself and bullying our CB’s single-handedly. They didn’t pass it around and press us like Fulham did, they didn’t smack in a hundred crosses and threaten from corners, they didn’t destroy us on the counter. They seriously just had 1 single striker running and hoping for a mistake from our defense and waiting to pounce. And we obliged.
