Agreed. He does miss some annoying shots but all of our great players did, people just forget...

Not many clear upgrades on NJ in the world. Haaland and who?

I do think we are short up front because Nkunku has not really banged and at any rate is not really a proper 9, and if NJ gets injured or has AFCON we will be short. But as competition / rotation for NJ, not replacement. He's one of the most promising signings we've made in years and only 23.

Let's be honest with ourselves: Jackson has improved and looked promising thus far, but to suggest there's only one attacker better than him or he's the long-term answer right now is too much.

Either way, he needs serious competition (Guiu isn't that); whether that's someone on par with him based on form or a supersub is where we might be divided.

jackson can be frustrating, but when he scores decisive goals, it's hard to criticize him

I concur. He missed a massive chance that he should have tucked away with his eyes closed, but credit where it's due; he didn't let that faze him and kept going to ultimately score the winner. It still leaves space for those moments of doubt, however small they may be.

we can not complain too much. 9 goals (without penaltys) in 15 games is very good.

The complaints aimed at him are far fewer than previous season. When the team is winning, it's easy to see the bright side of things.

I said who is a clear upgrade on him, rather than just someone that could in truth just flop and end up being worse or perform at a similar level. Haaland is the only name I can think of that would be pretty much guaranteed a big upgrade. Can't really think of any others, but who knows. Very few elite number 9s these days, but I could be wrong of course... Feel free to suggest some names.

I don't see Osimhen for example as a clear upgrade, rather he would be a huge gamble that could have huge upside or be a total disaster.

Every signing is a gamble. There's calculated gambles (Osimhen was one in July) and stupid ones that are hopefully behind us.

CF options that I personally see as upgrades on Jackson - Isak, Osimhen, Openda, & Marmoush (if his hotstreak continues).

Those are four obtainable targets that could do a better job leading the line right now, not four years down the line like Duran or Delap. However, those two names are probably far more likely to prevent rocking the boat.

Oshimhen and calculated risk, mate he was averaging Lukaku numbers in Italy, if anything it was a complete gamble like the rest.

Lukaku hasn't had a 20+ goal league campaign in over four years & he played for a superior side. Comparing two players based just on goals isn't the best way to judge players when there are mutiple factors to consider.

That goal from Jackson was world class. World class movement and dribbling and the shot was slightly off beat and threw the keeper off.

Honestly the best goal he’s scored for us.

Amazing.

🚨 The news that Benoit Badiashile has suffered an injury in training, which looks like ruling him out for a while, has come at a bad time. Wesley Fofana is already sidelined with a hamstring problem, so Chelsea could be without two important squad players for the busy Christmas period.

Not a fan of Cucu constant play acting. Goes to the ground too often holding his face on the slightest touch or pull. It will get old as refs will know his antics.

The team did benefit from it when the Southampton defender got a red for pulling Cucu's hair. I like his spikiness and it gives the team an edge that we haven't had in a while.

I blame referees. They should, at some point, realize he's prone to that and start either punishing him or ignoring his rolling on the ground.

It's just a bit hypocritical to go on and on about Neymar like folks used to do, when our own player does the same thing.

Yes we won and the performance was good but we really need to replace or get rid of Sanchez & Tosin.

They weren’t necessarily that bad today but can quite clearly see they aren’t at the level for where we aspire to be 👍

I'm not saying Jackdon should be replaced as the first choice striker but we fo need another reliable striker, only way his going to become consistent not to mention what if his injured or suspended .  Anyway I slept well for a change although very disappointed in City. Detest manure and all they stand for.
