What they'll do when it becomes obvious hes out of his depth, is they'll say ' he was an interim appointment'

Meanwhile several media are reporting Maresca has been having advanced talks about replacing Pep

Manager with insane 84.62% win record not interested in Chelsea job

https://www.caughtoffside.com/2026/01/01/francesco-farioli-Chelsea-manager/

Chelsea may reportedly struggle to land a replacement for Enzo Maresca as one exciting candidate is not interested in the job.

The manager in question is Porto head coach Francesco Farioli, who is not currently keen on moving to the Premier League, and particularly to Chelsea’s current project.

That’s according to a report from Portuguese outlet O Jogo, which also states that Farioli has a €15m buy-out clause in his contract.

Porto fans will certainly be glad to hear that the talented young Italian tactician is keen to stay, as he boasts a hugely impressive 84.62% win record with the club.

Anyone who has a vison, wants to build their own team or has a long term goal will turn us down its very obvious. Unfortunately we aren't who we used to be so scraping the barrel it is

We'll be back here in a year time or so

Seems like there's no other manager in the frame.

Any serious footballing operation would have a serious replacement readied behind the scenes. If Rosenior is heading the shortlist (as it appears so far), we are clearly run by an unserious bunch.

Probably because it came a bit sooner than expected. Pretty sure the club would have preferred to wait till end of the season like with Poch. Maresca decided to walk when his stock was still high. Top 4, two trophies and manager of the month in November.

Let's see what happens.

And another job for the boys moment, the guy is the ex City u21/EDS manager isn’t he? Maybe he’ll get the job full time?

Now the club putting the daggers in on Maresca also, claiming a lack of mental fortitude & emotional maturity on top of disrespect for him talking to Juve & City although he had a clause put in his contract stating he was to inform them if he was to talk to any other club 😂😂😂😂 Genuinely hilarious.

The circus continues. Wasn’t a fan of Maresca at all but he is 100% coming out of this on the other side, getting another decent job like all sacked Chelsea managers do. As it always happens. Whereas us, continue to be a laughing stock but only this time now, on a colossal scale.

Only one side coming out looking like they have a lack of mental fortitude & emotional maturity… will give you a clue, it is not Maresca.

We genuinely feel completely cooked as a club. When Rosenoir inevitably looks in way over his head and we finish midtable we’ll be right back to looking for a new manager in 6 months. If he even lasts that long.

We’ll then look even more like a shit show for sacking the guy who we sacked the previous guy for within the span of a few months.

Why not just fucking appoint a true interim now and then wait to see who is available and willing to come here once the season is over? Why jump to appoint a guy who nobody from the players to the supporters will respect?

Feels like intentional sabotage of a great club.

💣🗯Liam Rosenior is Chelsea's new coach!

The agreement with him was reached over a week ago.

This meant that Chelsea couldn't turn down a new coach, as Chelsea had always seen Rosenior as Enzo's successor.

There are still a few minor details to be clarified.

An announcement will be made after the game against City.

Rosenior is practically a Blue!!!
