He has scored 101 goal for Atletico.

Yer 101 goals in 234 all competition appearances and 74 goals in 175 la liga appearances. that's still a poor goal to game ratio for a striker valued that highly

Why buy an outrageously expensive striker to play as a winger when we could simply buy 2 natural wingers for his asking price instead? .

No matter how talented Kun is, he will never produce the same output as a natural, quality winger. case in point (Arjen robben vs David villa).who is more effective on the wings? answer that question truthfully please

aguerro might play more often than Robben

How does that answer my question?. my question was in paraphrased terms "who will be more effective on the wings. A quality natural winger or a striker pretending to be a winger"? And btw, even though it has nothing to do with the topic but since you brought it up, Kun is relatively injury prone as well, just check is injury record in the last 2 seasons at AM.

I just don't see him as an out and out Centre Forward, he would be more than capable of playing anywhere across a front 3 or even behind in the number 10 role. What natural, quality winger is there that we could bring in that would be better? With Villa v Robben it depends on what you are classing as effective, i don't see Villa hindering Barca's attacking play and i would quite happily take that over the attacking play we are serving up at the moment.

I'll answer it to you.

Agüero is a second striker and plays down the wings pretty often... so you don't have a clue about which position he plays... on the papers yes... but you've never seen him... he's maybe the best 2nd striker right now and he is a very good player down the wings...

I normally hate youtube but maybe you can have a better picture of his style of play if you watch this...

it is nothing like as bad as Robbens ,,,

check Arjens over the last 7 years ,,,and it was you who introduced Robben into the discussion

Do you care to explain how you came to that conclusion (the bolded part) another unnecessary presumption.

La liga is widely regarded as one of the best leagues in the world with huge follower ship and with sky TV having the broadcasting rights in the UK coupled with the popularity of live footie streaming on the internet, what restricts me from watching Kun and AM's games every weekend?

Robben was used as an example to illustrate the point that wingers role can not be effectively and efficiently fulfilled by a striker. That was a very simple concept and how it went over your head which led you to focus on Robben and his injury problems is beyond my wildest imagination,.

David Villa is effective on the wings because his style of play suites barca's tika taka passing game and their midfield dominance also plays a huge role. At a club like our on the other hand where the midfield is unimaginative and uncreative, you need a natural winger that can run at defenders down the flanks and create chances, a striker would struggle to significantly impact play on the wings for us. A classic example is Anelka, you can see how unnatural and ineffective his play his on the wings compared to when he's played as a center forward which is the same position he played when he emerged as premiership's highest goals scorer 3 seasons ago.

because you've asked how we come to that conclusion, agüero is a wonderfull second striker with loads of technique and a low center of gravity with pared with a good physique plus he can play on the wings and cut into the middle to shot himself, because of that i did wonder how you could ask this...:whistling:

So you would buy Neymar for 35 Mio + another Winger instead of agüero? because of what because of the price? (Neymar 35 - 40 Agüero 45)

Sry but I think variety is the key with agüero + another good winger maybe Navas (can somebody give this boy some serious therapie because of his homesickness?) and a creative midfielder gives us more than neymar...

our front three could look like this

Studge/Agüero--------------Torres/Drogs/Agüero-------------New Winger/Kakuta/Studge

front two with creative midfielder like this:

-------------------------------NewOM/Kakuta/Aüero-----------------------

----------------------Studge/Agüero---------Drogs/Torres---------------

with neymar you get a pure winger and nothin else.... thats what I think plus I cant stand him and he is unproven... but hey, no risk no fun...
