Hassenhüttl has PL experience and is a decent coach. Tuchel is a huge risk for many reasons. Poch would have been my first choice, but he is gone

Thanks God he was gone!

Also should not this thread be locked?

Only when he signs that new contract. I really hope the club don’t bottle this. I understand them being cautious with the 18 months contract at first but if they don’t see how this is a match made in heaven by now they are lost.

Probably but we did the same with Mourinho and Conte.

I think we should extend his contract for one more year. He was giving 18 months plus one year option of extension.

Give him that and then see after that. No need to do the same, because for some reason managers here after you give them a long extension they go down!

I admit I was one of them, he did so well with that Spurs team, but as others said thank God PSG went for him just in time.

He's a good coach when it comes to improving player's but I feel he's overrated as a full package.

He never reacts to opposition managers making in game changes (main two examples last week vs City and against Allegri a few years back), his youth record is a myth, his transfer record is diabolical and his style is too reliant on forcing opponent error although admittedly on song his teams are very good at it.

Cant refute much of that Tomo

I don’t think we can improve with a new manager

the squad is just full of okish players without real quality in attack. Only true wc players are Thiago, Kante and Mendy. The rest is inconsistent. TT allowed us to play out of our socks in the cl last season. But we were only decent in the league just as we are this season. The problems are the same as under Lampard. The wc coach has added a few cups and maybe 10-15 pts per season but we need to invest heavily in a better squad to be the best over a full season  again.

Tuchel will only be a concern if he approves more absurd signings like Lukaku.

Clear as day the issue is personnel Who gets into City or Liverpool's team? Not even Kante anymore considering his injury record. I'm expecting a massive fire sale in the summer with loads of players leaving on a free.

We gave Sarri till the end of the season (and would have given him longer but he decided against it) after the two biggest defeats in two decades.

Unless we have an irreversible slide down the table like we did under Mou or Lamps, he at an absolute minimum will get the same.

I was joking with comment in this thread but I think we have great squad on paper. Mendy, Rudiger, Silva, Chilwell, James, Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic would all be in their teams or are similar level as their starting players.

Pep for example wanted Lukaku and Werner. Klopp wanted Pulisic and Werner also. Problem is that our players are underperforming. All attacking ones and last couple of weeks even defensive part.

Tuchel did not improve our attacking players. Klopp and Pep would this second swipe Firmino or Jesus for Kai.

What I would like now to see is that TT changes formation. Ok, we need Chilwell back for that but at one point he has to do it.

Azpi will be dropped, I dont trust Chris in back 4 so Chalobah can be good pairing with Silva or Rudiger. Chilly and Jamas full backs. We have 3 great players for pivot and ffs play Kai as AM.

Sarri is only manager we had that I would trust in the long term. Conte and Jose always burn bridges at one point. Lampard was never good enough, TT is another who looks like short term and had similar problems in previous clubs so there is a pattern how this may end. Especially in Chelsea.

Ok Sarri wanted to go to Juve after transfer ban but he always makes his teams better season after season. There were some positive signs by the end of the season. But we will never find out what would happened.

We will never be a fantastic offensive team with our shape and tactics under Tuchel. We're not built to look like City, Bayern, Liverpool, or some of the better offenses in the world. That's completely fine as we have shown we can still win when completely healthy.

With what we have for a squad, Tuchel has done a marvelous job thus far. He deserves a lot of credit as we wrote off most of these players under Lampard.

But it's frustrating watching this team never make any adjustments or get more
players forward until the very end of the game.

We'll always be a team that can beat anyone in the world or lose on any given day because our brand of football is always defensive no matter who we play.
