You are probably right. if things never collapsed, we would have just continued along the track of "just good enough", getting top 4 most seasons and a trophy every other 2 - 3 years. Rebuilding like this is the only of having a shot at being top. Only City really have a plan in England now, we can easily overtake the other teams (Liverpool, United, Arsenal, Tottenham) if things go well this summer. Ledg 643
And Ambramovich need to trust and give a chance to the next manager like he did with Mourinho not the ones before him. I don't think we'll be again a point above relegation anytime soon but it should really be the worst scenario when a manager needs to be sacked. Just let the manager work in piece and don't expect miracles in the first six months/a year. Really hope they learned from this season. Alabama 1,992
Conte or anybody....the ugly culprit is the board...sign few quality/class players in the summer transfer and back the manager with all the resources he needs...we gonna be rocking back at he top.... xPetrCechx and bellion
xPetrCechx 13,573
Antonio Conte is taking English lessons paid for by #Chelsea as he prepares to become their next boss. [Daily Star] When he takes over in the summer, Conte will be put in charge of every single player at #Chelsea from youth team to first team. [Daily Star] Since Mourinho’s sacking, Guus Hiddink has given first-team opportunities to Kenedy, Bertrand Traore and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. [Daily Star] It is understood Roman Abramovich wants to see even younger players graduating to the first team and that’s why he wants Conte. [Daily Star] Antonio Conte will be given responsibility for the under-21s and under-18s in a bid to shake up the existing set-up. Popular Post! Pizy 18,944 Posted March 12, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted March 12, 2016 The club seem to be doing their homework and are serious about setting up like a proper, long-term thinking team with a set style and identity. Let's just hope that this summer is fewer Miazga's, Papy's, Falcao's, and Pato's, and more Costa's, Fabregas's, and Hazard's. Otherwise we'll be looking for a new manager again a year from now. xPetrCechx, Muzchap, bellion and 2 others

Pizy 18,944
Not sure why all of these papers keep linking us with Cavani. Unless they're just assuming Costa leaving is 100% nailed on which is stupid. If they're thinking that Cavani would come here with Costa staying that's stupid as well since that's why he's unhappy in Paris playing second fiddle to Ibra. With Zlatan leaving surely Cavani would stay there.

Fernando 6,585
Well we have had a positive influence by Italians in our team in the past couple of decades. So can't deny that and gives me some glimmering of hope. And just like all it takes time. Just like at Liverpool with Kloop. I was expecting them to be bad right of the bat with him. But to get better as we go into next season. And little by little they are improving here and there.
The Chels 2,502
Jorge Sampaoli reveals he was ‘about to become’ new Chelsea manager Quote The former Chile coach says he had talks with the Stamford Bridge club but believes his lack of English may have counted against him. However he reckons he could well have got the nod had current Italy coach Conte not come into the reckoning. Sampaoli said: “Now I can say that I was really, really close to becoming the new coach of Chelsea. “I was about to be their new coach. I had this meeting with Chelsea’s owner and he told me that I was the first option at that moment. “But then Conte appeared and it became a competition between us it was him or me. “Unfortunately, Chelsea have chosen Conte over me. It¹s a real shame for me, because I was so excited about coaching a Premier League club.” The language barrier was the only thing Sampaoli was concerned about and he accepts it could have been a problem. Speaking to Argentine radio Vorterix, he said: “The Premier League is definitely the best league in the world and I wanted to coach there. But as I said, it didn¹t happen in the end. “I was called by Chelsea, but it won¹t happen. It was complicated from the beginning. “I would have to motivate a group of players through communication, and I still have to speak much better in English. “I needed some time in order to improve my English. But this kind of club doesn¹t give you that time.”

He would have been great, and no english barrier doesn't mean much. Look at what Bielsa was able to do at France. As long as he was able to study it was all good. What a shame we didn't went for him. Oh well I'm still happy as well with Conte. He ain't that bad. Kieran.
