Where does Abramovic confirm that?

Dunno but Guus is a fan of clearing the air as soon as possible so Roman could inform staff (which is about 600 people on full-time job) and players. It wouldn't surprise if he would do that if deal was a done however can you imagine him telling to all those people that if contract wasn't signed etc. ? That would be hilarious and I can't imagine that.

I think he could say a couple of high rank people within the club or allowed others to spread the news that deal is close.

I won't attach to it as I'm certain anyway that Conte will be a Chelsea manager.

Quite the contrary to Henrique's post. His main idea will be to have a dominant midfield, so a technical, robust Anchor Man will be his first pick. Whether it is Vidal or Naingollan, it doesn't matter. On the other hand, as much as he admires Cuadrado, he himself must know the club moved beyond him, having Pedro, Willian and Kenedy as options there, who are all bigger quality than him.

To be fair, I'm expecting to big transfers(in terms of money) and that will be it. Our youths are more than adequate to cover. If we are bringing Christensen back, then I doubt we'll see a DF here.

Didn't the media report that Mourinho earned double figures a year and we're talking in pounds?
Seems like Granovskaia negotiated ruthlessly, lolz.

Di Marzio reported that this 6m€ or 5 and something will be his net income. So effectively you can double that sum and I'm sure Mourinhos income was gross.

I just can't understand how people still insist with the "Guus should be given a full-term contract" talk. THE GUY DOES NOT WANT IT. It's simple. He said it many times before.

Guus said this in 2009 but I have never once heard him say so this time around. Guus has said he is leaving but he has not said why.

This is not to say that Guss does want the job but I do know he clearly did have more than half an eye on it when he returned. As far as the public knew that remained the case until about six weeks ago when he started to make it clear he'd be leaving the hot seat at the end of the season. It may be that the club, now obsessed with the long term boss idea, have made it clear that they want a younger man, it could be that Guus finds the alternative job he's been offered upstairs more appealing, or that his health won't allow him to accept the role in the dugout. Goodness it could even be that Guus just does not want the job, as you say. It could be any number of reasons but the point is we don't know because Guus hasn't said.

Its going to be a tough pre season again. With  supposedly Conte with Italy his minds not going to be on our case as much as we need. And then we got the USA (International Champions Cup) in July I'm worried about his training with the lads as well as transfers.

And apart from him bringing Massimo Carrera with him which will create us some headlines im sure, thats my only concern about conte.

Seeing as Simeone seemingly doesnt want to come join us hes as good a choice as anyone. (Anyone want to give me odds of him going to that North London club after that old bloke leaves?)

"I have put two dates in my mind. The 25th and 28th of May, then it's finished and I can go home on the 29th. The first is the FA Cup final and the second is the Champions League. I think we have made it very clear at the end of this then I will stop". He said this in January. I really doubt that the board told him: "hey, Guus, we're gonna give you the job, but no matter what, you will leave after the season ends". It's clear to me that he lacks the motivation to go for the long term.

Just to make it clear, I was one of the most excited members of this forum when he was appointed and if he would like to stay, I would be more than happy. He's a great guy and gave us some amazing results, given the situation. But I just don't think that he ever wanted to stay here for the next season.

Just hope hes got something written into his contract concerning transfers.

I remember when Mou came back there was reports supposedly summet in his saying he wasnt going to have control of transfers. Thats why i didnt really put the ones we got down to him.

Firstly, I'm in full agreement about your last paragraph, apart from the last sentence.

As to the quote from January, yes, about six weeks ago as I said. At his first conference, and at others up until January, he talked about the dates for the two cup finals (although he initially got the date of the Champions league final wrong) but then added, after that we'll see. He absolutely clearly left the door open to an extended stay. Something happened in January, something I speculated on in a post at the time. My guess then was that the club had reached agreement with the new man (in principle at least) , that Guus had been told about it and that this was the reason for his change of tune.

I was very disappointed that Guus did not take the job when it was offered to him in 2009, and I'd be delighted if he was appointed now but he isn't going to be. There must be a reason or reasons for that but, while we can each speculate what the key reason might be, neither of us know. One thing for sure is that Guus has never said that he does not want the job. He may not want it but he has never said so, as was originally claimed.
