Fernando 6,585
That's what you get a lot of up and down with such a young team. Still we would have been better if the owner spend good on the striker department.

robsblubot 3,595
If we are fair game, like we are now, and anyone can attack us away and at home, then yes, perhaps Madueke can contribute with his pace and directness. In which case, we are fucked anyway. If we regain some of our strength and opponents end up respecting us again, he will have to do things he hasn't shown he is capable of. That's why I think he is still a big question mark at this level. Can he make a career? Sure, but at this level he needs to learn to operate in tight spaces, and I haven't seen him doing that yet. His game is long; his touches are long w/ long strides. Suppose we will see.

King Kante 1,643
For me, he should come off the bench more frequently. Last night he was the only one who was driving at that weak Utd line instead of trying to play around it. Not saying he is a great player, but I much rather him come off the bench than Sterling or Mudryk (who seems to stay on the bench when he is a sub.) I'm far from a fan (think he should've been on loan), but have to agree that considering the lack of options, he should be used more often. Mudryk's game is way too inconsistent within the same match: he makes good moves and a minute later switches off, or has a poor touch cheaply losing possession. Sterling is a bizarre case... I don't get it. Still suspect something physical, but could be mentality -- retirement mode? bit of both perhaps? Carney is far superior to all 3 for me atm, so he should prob be starting on the left when fully fit.

I think everybody who seen him 2-3 times can tell why he isn’t playing for Chelsea. Simply not good enough, I cannot even see what he is supposed to be good at. He has some skills and finishing, but definetly nothing execptional, and his overall work / defending is way below the standards, even nowadays. Palmer, Colwill or Caicedo are also not perfect, but at least with them one can see where we are going, and they really need minutes to mature up. Madueke or Broja, you can see even their sight on the field or passing / ball handling is weak, just not this level. What is your opinion on him now? lucio 5,418
He’s decent , I don’t think he’ll be more than a squad option in a team chasing the big trophies but he’s got hustle and way more useful than mudryk on the other flank , still question marks over attitude. hutchinson has a higher ceiling imo tho mkh and robsblubot
Thor 2,711
He has the perfect winger build for the PL. He is strong and fast - and shifty. Obviously a little one footed, but he just needs to read the game better and keep his head up with the dribble and he can be extremely effective for us moving forward. The pass to Jackson was an easy one, so he needs to find the slightly tougher passes from reading the game. Big potential - but yeah - Poch needs to keep drilling in him the value of moving the ball quickly, not holding it, and continue moving off the ball to create great chances like last night. A lot of the top wingers are very one footed. Look at Robben and Saka for eg. You always knew what Robbem would do but he was just too difficult to contain. Saka is similar too but he is too difficult to contain. Madueke has a very similar style. If he continues to work on his productivity in final third, he will be a really good player. Part of that has to become from his own work and willingness and part of that has to come from the club trusting him and giving him that game time, which he is regularly getting now. DH1988 1,348
Seems to have matured in the last few months, going from the club straight after a game and trying to nab penalties to giving level headed mature interviews and mentions the team effort in every other sentence whilst putting in performances, it's down to him. To my defense, I can say I commented this on the 23rd of Dec, Noni failed to score or assist in the PL till 27th and pretty much had no promising contribution. He got his shit together, but still I feel he is very raw and I don't really see him being part of a system, more like someone you send to the filed and does whatever he wants. Watching him more during spring, his skills and shots are good, but Yesterday was his first really good game at Chelsea. Until Yesterday, he just had moments. But, I was obviously not right with that comment - egg on my face if you like 😄

For sure he needs to do this, however equally we also need wingers that can contribute defensively. For me, Noni is the player to do that with his relative strength, desire to win the ball and the fact he has to play with Palmer who wants to play the free role. The value of moving the ball quickly is important for any player so improvement their is important as we don't want him to fall into the Willian/Sterling trap as he is never going to but Hazard with his dribbling. However, I am not so worried about his off the ball movement atm, as he is the one front the front three covering the most ground to help out defensively. For me, Noni is playing as a very important squad player atm. He isn't the go to man like Palmer, however he is doing a lot of the donkey work on the flank in order to allow Palmer a free role, help out the RB when they get isolated and bring the ball out from the back to transition from defence to counter.
