Ten Hag overrated rofl.. Thats why they are in battle for CL..

I guess u just dont fancy facts.

As I said, they were better under Ole in 2021, a coach that people used to make fun of.

If this team could score - we'd be be fine. We probably have the second best defence in the league, but we just can't put the damn ball in the net.

Given the players Potter has - it shouldn't even be a remotely difficult task.

Current cycle of supporting Chelsea:

Fan gets excited that the next match is only one or two days away -> Chelsea play & lose -> Fan gets frustrated and angry at the manager -> Fan finds out that the board has decided to keep Potter on the job -> A few days of silence or media rumours and stupid conversations about Enrique and other underwhelming names -> Fan gets exicited that the next match is only one or two days away -> ....

So here I am, excited and ready to watch the mighty Blues. Will the cycle be broken tomorrow?

On a side note, considering that there's a huge chance we will only play once a week next season, I just want to mention that it gets really, really frustrating when there's a bad run of form. Having to wait for so long to watch the team again after a loss is very difficult. During this past week, I couldn't wait for another chance to make things right. Please, Chelsea, just win tomorrow. Please, please, please!

Chelsea

Luis Enrique is a top coach and it’s normal to see his name around for many jobs, such as Chelsea. At the moment, he’s not in conversation with any club yet. What I can say for sure is that Luis Enrique wants to return as soon as possible after the World Cup and he’d love to be back at work in the next months, he doesn’t want to stop.

Raheem Sterling’s rep Kelly Hogarth on his future: “Sterling has expressed no discontent with Chelsea, committed his long-term future to the new ownership this summer — there is to be no review of his position in the upcoming transfer window”.

Sterling wants to stay at Chelsea. As I said yesterday, no confirmation of interest from Arsenal, who already have recent signing Leandro Trossard and soon a new contract for Bukayo Saka.

What the ownership need to realise is the idea of a long term manager needs to be organic. I'm sure every time a club appoints a manager, the dream is they are successful and stay with the club for years to come but it doesn't always work that way and it can't be forced.

One of the things I believe most of us fans agree on when trying to work out reasons as to why we've been way off the pace challenging for the league over the last few years has been the lack of forward planning and structure at the club. It's not so much the managerial turnover, as it is the complete clash in style of managers we've gone through.

We went and bought a number of young, technical players then appointed Jose. Then Conte came in with his back 3. Then Sarri with a possession heavy 4-3-3. Then Lampard leaning on the academy boys. Then Tuchel with a back 3. Now Potter who seems to want to switch to a back 4. No consistency has left us with a mish mash of players in a largely unbalanced squad.

The ownership have actually made the hardest appointments already, just not Potter. Bringing in the likes of Vivell, Winstanley, Shields, etc - they are the ones that are tasked with the long term build and vision for the club and they are the ones that the ownership should be leaning on with regards to a long term, stable plan. That way if a coaching appointment doesn't work out, you move on to a different one with the right fit for the club and players.

If Pep left City in the summer, do people think they would go for a big name like for example Simeone, or would they go for the most sensible fit stylistically after Pep?

The club made some excellent signings in the January window which over time, I think we'll be able to look back and view that as a real golden window but it's now about putting the pieces in place around that, and this includes the manager.

I hope Boehly buries his difference with Tuchel & appoints him. Feel there is unfinished business for Tuchel and he has proven himself at the highest level.

Tuchel was floundering big time, and we also do not know what happened with that large bust-up that has been reported as 'if you knew what happened with him and ownership you would understand why he was sacked'

This sounds like we are some relegation team.

I think,  in the next game the team should dominate and shoot at least 2-3 goals or lose!

So we can finally see some process or get rid of Poter.

Everyone goes through a patch but more importantly the quality was there ... I dont care on the bust up if things can be mend for the greater good.

We do! But all teams need to do is score a goal or equalise and we're screwed

“Performances haven’t been as bad as results” speechless

Also Luis Enrique - no thanks.

Piss piss poor transfer record at both Roma and Barca as well as mediocre career outside of 2 years at Barca with a frontline that spanked about 350 goals between 3 players. Spain one of the most boring international sides in recent times in both spells with him.
