pre massive injury at Leicester he looked like a star in the making

I have mentally booked his transfer fee&wages as sunk cost so not even mad anymore but usually if you get this many similar injuries in this short a timespan this early in your career you will either never come back 100% or be a recurring patient like Pulisic or Robben.

btw it is kinda curious how players with the same last names pop up in clusters.  It used to be Traore, Dembele now it's Mendy, Fofana, Martinez. I hope we have more luck with the new Fofana chap from Molde.

Gone a bit under the radar this but Pulisic hasn't been injured for over a year.

Was only one full season of football though.

But again, people get extremely ahead of themselves because someone under the age of 21, where sometimes they've only had one good season in their whole career, is instantly deemed some sort of star in the making.

There are exceptions ie. Bellingham and Haaland but particularly PL based players under the age of 21, people are OTT.

Not to say there aren’t good players but the amount of stars in the making comments I’ve seen over the years regarding players who haven’t/don’t become that level, it is frightening.

The problem Leicester overpaid for him by a shitload already. As they are a feeder club they naturally overhyped him, faked his stats and spewed misinformation about him all over the internet to make a bigger club fall into the trap of buying him once they themselves had realized their mistake.
Todd being new to the business managed to mob up every player whose reputation was built on carefully spun myths or long gone capabilities rather than actual recently proven quality in Sterling, K2, cucu, fofana.

I for sure rate Fofana over Konate and Upamecano.

pre injury Fofana SO true, but now? massive questions have arisen since he broke his leg

we didn't even wait a full season (from start to end, not a calendar year) after the injury to access

Playing great since return from injury and this resulted with call for France team. Badiashile only for u21.

which I don't understand and is somewhat unfair. Badiashile barely put a foot wrong.

Both have looked quality this year tho.

Yep, passing is one of the reasons. And in 3 atb you want one CB to be different type. Basically Cucurella is now what Azpi was for Conte and Tuchel only on different side.

It is indeed a recurring pattern. Still think we would be more solid at the back with Badi instead of Cucu in LCB
