xPetrCechx 13,571
Nikola Maksimovic has walked out on Torino and is trying to force a move to Napoli. [Tuttosport] Good news for us potentially… #Koulibaly Maksimovic has missed several Torino training sessions and has flow back to his native Serbia as he waits for a chance to move. LAM09 7,056
Everyone needs to stop moaning about the price. Who fucking cares that he may cost £50m? John Stones was woeful last season and just went for £50m a few days ago! This dude was one of the best CB's in Europe last year and has the potential to be the best. Worth it. Koulibaly + Zouma at some point this season hopefully. Future back 3 of Koulibaly, Zouma, and Chistensen. Pace, power, great on the ball, massive size and physicality. Dont care what he costs, just get him in. Stones price was inflated because he's HG. We low-balled for two months and still ended up getting ripped off. Would have much rather had payed the money for him early so he could mold with the team by now. Our board never seems to learn. Get the business done early and you don't end up chucking stupid panic bids like the ones we did for Marquinhos last season. Or is it our fans who never learn? If our opening bid had been £50 million do you think Napoli would've accepted it? I don't. They'd have rejected it out of hand and people like you would now be talking about just paying up the £80 million and be done with it. In any case, if the story about this bid is true, I wouldn't be surprised if it was rejected. Napoli have nothing to lose and so can afford to play the game till the end if they want to. Fernando, Strike, Essien19 and 2 others

quickpassnmove 924
Price is high, but then I'm more concerned whether CFC sign more than one defender before the window closes. How can it be only one after what we've seen?

bababoom 4,478
Maksimovic looks like a very good ball playing defender. If we cant get Koulibaly we should just get him. The thing about Kolibaly though is that IMO (i've only watched videos online and read articles so take it with a pinch of salt) he's not really a great passer of the ball - not saying he's a bad passer of the ball, mind, but he's the type of defender who will use his acceleration to move forward into midfield but still lacks the vision to dictate play and start the moves of. This guy though seems like a hidden gem - he was injured for large parts of last season and played only 13 games so it may be the reason why he's not on the radar of the bigger clubs - but Napoli are getting one hell of a deal if they sell Koulibaly (who is a fantastic defender) for £50 million and replace him with this guy for only £21m.

Moreover what do you value more a ball playing CB(Stones) or a rock to build a defense around (Koulibaly)? In my opinion we need both but without question the more important attribute is ball winner with pace and strength. We have Christensen coming back and by all accounts he's a ball playing CB and won't cost 50m quickpassnmove and bababoom

I love that the guys just a rock hard man mountain and I dont see alot getting by the lad BUT thats exactly how I see Happy. IS K2 going to be a bigger version of Happy? Happy is great at winning balls and making short passes to get out of trouble. What he/WE need is a partner for him to get the ball to to create iffensive passes and take the ball up with him. I made this comment earlier in the thread and was reliably told by someone who watches K2 that I needn't worry as he was very good at mid to long range passes tho he didn't mention running with the ball. He's great at carrying the ball past a few opponents and then laying it off for offensive players. definitely has more of a forward drive than happy. quickpassnmove

Fernando 6,585
Don't think people should put so much future on zouma till after his back in form. Because a very bad injury like that is sometimes a career killer. Peace.
Tomo 21,751
Funny thing is, people who said we should have got a CB in for pre season, well we did, but unfortunately that particular rug got pulled from under our feet as he done his ACL. Whats even more ironic however, is no one fucking wanted him The Skipper and oldportblue
