Superblue 6,372
I've seen the reports for Barca regarding Pjanic and Umtiti. Is there anyone in the Barca squad who wouldn't necessarily be bullet proof for them but possibly a good option for us? Even on a loan move if they're looking to reduce their wage bill, is there someone we could bring in from them for a season to cover an area in the squad that needs an extra body? Vesper 30,178
From the anus of Duncan Castles: Chelsea HAVE NOW TOLD ARSENAL TARGET THEY WANT TO SIGN HIM, CLAIMS JOURNALIST https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2021/07/04/ben-white-arsenal-Chelsea-brighton/ Duncan Castles has claimed on The Transfer Window podcast that Chelsea are now interested in signing Arsenal target Ben White. The well-known and well-respected journalist 😹 has reported that Chelsea have notified White that they want to sign him from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window. The journalist has also said that Arsenal have improved on their offer to Brighton and has shared details about it. Castles said on The Transfer Window podcast, as transcribed by The Express: “My understanding is that this week they (Arsenal) have improved their offer, increased the initial down payment and made the schedule of the payments over the course of the contract more attractive to Brighton. But as yet there is not an agreement between the two clubs on the transfer fee.” The journalist added, as transcribed by The Express: “We’ve told you there’s been interest and a conversation with Manchester City. I now understand that Chelsea have notified the player of their interest in signing him.” 😜
Vesper 30,178
Barca are truly the worst run club in the history of football when you look at total money shit away. If a firm in the US or UK was run like they are, the directors would likely be facing prison time for fiduciary fraud, and even if they faced no criminal charges, they would be facing massive civil lawsuits. Example: They have spent (just ONE player) over £70m (over €82m) on Miralem Pjanić in the last 10 months (transfer fee + add-ons + salary) and now are supposedly willing to let him walk on a free. It is just insane. ROFLMAO We are crazy if we pick up his salary (around £300K PW guaranteed for the next THREE years, the last year in which he turns 34yo). Pessi is a fool to re-up there, unless he simply doesn't care anymore and just wants the payday (which is entirely possible, he is one greedy little cunt). Rice has been on the radars of Chelsea for the longest time now. An ex-academy trainee, the England international left the Blues for West Ham in 2014 where he completed his footballing education before bursting onto the scenes in the Premier League as a teenager. Since then, Rice has grown into one of the best defensive midfielders in the league and has established himself as a permanent fixture in the England national team as well. Indeed, the West Ham star has been brilliant in the ongoing UEFA Euro 2020, helping the Three Lions make it to the semi-finals of the competition. And, Romano has claimed that Chelsea have made the former academy man their priority to strengthen the midfield this summer. Although, he does mention that the Hammers’ valuation could make things difficult. (h/t Express) “At the moment, Chelsea’s priority in midfield is Declan Rice. If they will sign a midfielder, Declan Rice will be one of the biggest possibilities. Then, they have to find an agreement with West Ham, and it won’t be easy because West Ham are asking for a lot of money for him.” Romano also claimed that AS Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni is someone that the club could look at as an alternative to Rice in case a move does not pan out. “We have to keep an eye on Tchouameni as a possibility for many Premier League clubs, not just for Chelsea. We will see. At the moment there’s nothing imminent.” Edited July 4, 2021 by Vesper

Styl1994 188
Barcelona overpaid on Dembele (especially when you see what Manchester United got Sancho for) and Coutinho and then bought Griezmann to play him out of position. if we signed Haaland we definitely need him looking at our goal tally since Costa left and we would obviously play in the right position. Serie A side ‘change their stance’ on Chelsea star and want him on loan https://astamfordbridgetoofar.com/2021/07/05/transfer-news-ac-milan-change-stance-on-Chelsea-star-hakim-ziyech/ Transfer News: AC Milan change stance regarding Chelsea playmaker Hakim Ziyech According to a report by Italian publication, Corriere dello Sport via SempreMilan (h/t Football.london), AC Milan now want to sign Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech on loan instead of a permanent transfer. The Moroccan wide-man joined the club just last summer in a move from Eredivisie giants, Ajax. But life in English football did not get off to a roaring start for him. Multiple fitness issues saw him sidelined for a number of games under Frank Lampard. And ever since Thomas Tuchel took over the helm earlier this year, Ziyech’s role is reduced largely to being a squad player in the league. I was thinking more along the lines of if there was someone we could maybe take on loan for a season if we needed to 'make do' because key targets weren't available. Vesper 30,178
Aston Villa 'fancy' completing Chelsea transfer Latest Aston Villa transfer news from BirminghamLive brings what the latest reports in the national press have been saying about the Lions' interest in Chelsea's Valentino Livramento https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-Chelsea-transfer-news-20968964 Aston Villa have again been credited with an interest in Chelsea youngster Valentino Livramento. Villa were first linked with a move for Livramento earlier this year with the 18 year-old out of contract with Chelsea next year. Southampton have also been mentioned as a potential destination for Livramento while Championship promotion contenders AFC Bournemouth are the latest club to be tipped to move for the player. The Daily Star report that 'several' established teams in Europe want to land the right-sides player who can operate as a wing-back. Bournemouth are said to be keen to bring the youngster to Dean Court on loan.

He's still an incredible player but the money they are paying him and the over-reliance on him is just pushing them deeper into this financial abyss. They moved away from relying on their academy and started paying stupid money for players. The transfer fee's for Dembele and Coutinho in particular were nothing short of a joke. Coutinho even in his pomp at Liverpool was never more than £50m. Griezmann falls into that category too simply because he wasn't needed when Messi is at the club. Although ironically if Barca let Messi go, they should rely on Griezmann the next couple of years to anchor the attack. I do think over the next few years more players will end up moving clubs at the end of their contracts instead of the big money moves and if Barca cleared the decks somewhat over the next season or two and rebuilt around a younger core of players then they could be in a position to make a play for the likes of Haaland, Mbappe, etc because they'll still hold massive pull for players.
