Not buying the agent fees stuff at all with Hakimi. Didn’t we pay more in agent fees than anyone in Europe last season? Pretty sure I saw a report about that a couple of months ago.

I just think he had his head set on PSG. And I’m sure they offered double in salary than what we did.

That data was from February 2020 - February 2021 only in PL and of course, it was the total agent fees of all the players we signed during that period.

This obviously is just one player and if it's true that the club doesn't see the RWB as a priority position to improve on, then I guess they deemed Hakimi was not worth it to pay so much for.

We want to fight for title with City. Anything less is unacceptable. But if they get Grealish and even Kane that would be extremely difficult.

I give Kane's ankles two years before he is too immobile that he has to stay in the box the whole game. Grealish for me is overrated. If City do £200m+ on them I would be delighted.

Matt Law saying define interest in Traore, we still want Declan Rice but at 100m it's a lot but if it gets to 70M it could happen. Doesn't think Lukaku dead in the water either.

That is worrisome. This sort of targets make me fear a repeat of 2017.

Tuchel and club priotizing quality over quantity and linked to Traore, Lukacow and Rice LOL Can't make this shit up.

Indeed. Has disaster written all over it.

If last January and last summer is anything to go by, it's that Cech's appointment has hopefully helped preventing some of our previous actions with stop gaps or paying ludicrous amounts for average players.

If rumours about Rice and Lukacow are anything to go by it didn't, both of them are Tottenham level at maximum no matter how many people tell me Lukaku improved or Rice is anything but an average overhyped English mug.

2 points

1. It never said it was the sole or even main reason.

2. We paid the most agent fees in the EPL (not all of UEFA) at a wee bit over £35m for the whole 12 months, BUT that includes all those buys, plus agents' cuts from loans (IF they were not paid by the loanee, as FIFA banned motherfuckers from working BOTH (or even all 3, if you count the player getting raped as well) sides, like that piece of dogshit Mino did with the Pogba deal, where BOTH Manure AND Juve paid that cockwomble, and SO DID POGBA himself, a triple play payday, he ended up pocketing almost 50m euros!) that reduced our intake from those, etc.

Lukaku I'm sure is purely speculation but the Rice rumors have me worried. Then again, the Athletic did post that article after Lampard's sacking that our board were frustrated with him when he urged them to spend big on Rice.

Hopefully there is truth to that, as that would fall under the 'not spend ridiculous amounts for average players' category.

Honestly with these average players rumoured, United officially signing Sancho and being linked to Camavinga, Goretzka and Varane will take a break from the transfer window because it's already pissing me off, hope we turn around but I don't trust Marina even with Cech around.

Marina doesn't target the players, she is the fee/contract power

90% certain Sancho is there only big signing. They will not get either of those three.

Report: Chelsea put off by huge agent fees involved in potential deal for Hakimi

https://www.thechelseachronicle.com/transfer-news/report-Chelsea-put-off-by-huge-agent-fees-involved-in-potential-deal-for-22-year-old/

Reluctance to pay huge agent fees is one of the reasons why Chelsea took a step back in the pursuit of Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi, according to The Telegraph’s Matt Law.

As reported by Calciomercato.it last week, the Blues look to have been beaten by Paris Saint-Germain in the race for the 22-year-old.

Obviously, PSG’s reported €70million (£60m) offer’s being more attractive to Inter compared to Chelsea’s reported player-plus-cash offer may have been the biggest factor.

But that is not the only one, according to Law.

“I did some checking, and Chelsea’s interest in Hakimi has been real,” the journalist told London is Blue podcast.

While Law was unsure whether there was an official bid or not, he claims that there were indeed talks between Chelsea and Inter about Hakimi’s price tag.

“From what I’m told, there is basically large agent fees involved with Hakimi,” he added.

“We’ve been here before with Chelsea, they don’t like those massive agent fees.

“It seems like PSG are willing to pay the agent exactly what he wants and a huge amount of wages for a right-back.

“I think that has dimmed Chelsea’s interest slightly.”

There was no such things in top league football it is customary for selling clubs to use a decoy club to raise value of the player. Hakimi is no better than CHO or Reece James, why the hell would we want to pay this price tag. In this case Chelsea was decoy club and Inter will return the favour later.

as a RWB he blows them away, he is by far the best RWB on the planet and is only going to get better
