I think the Eriksen's situation is different from Sanchez's. Eriksen is only 27 and is in his peak years and while it's not a good look on him, I believe his lack of motivation is due to the fact that he doesn't want to be at Spurs. With Sanchez, I think it's a case of his body just gave up on him after his endless exertions with club and country over the years. Over the last decade or so, I think he had less than 3 summer breaks. Otherwise, he played a lot for Barcelona and Arsenal and god knows how many tournaments with Chile. If anything, it's a surprise that he didn't break down sooner, especially when you consider his playing style on top of the lack of proper rest. Its only because he's most recent the go to example of a formerly top class player turning to complete shit, before that Torres was the one mentioned. Either way it will be a risk (all be it a relitevely cheap one) to say his performances are because he wants to leave Spurs, and furthermore even if it's as straightforward as that do we really want that type of player setting an example to our young guys? Hazard badly wanted to leave last season but instead of sulking gave us his best season yet, even Hudson Odoi (who a fair portion of the fanbase has already marked down as a bad attitude diva) still have his all during the period he by all accounts badly wanted to go. Comparing them to the fat Rooney and 35 years old Lampard? It was the more the point of emphasising that players can still look good statically but still be on the way down more than a direct comparison. If we end up getting Eriksen (which we won't) I hope I'm wrong but I can't remember many top performances from him really since that nightmare game Spurs ended their Stamford Bridge hoodoo. But the drop off in Sanchez and Torres had to do with injuries/physical exertions etc. That's not the case with Eriksen, is it? And for the record, I never said Eriksen's behavior at Spurs is a good example. Each player reacts differently but it's not a good look for sure. Pizy 18,916
Frank's desperate for a striker. He's hinting at it in every way possible without explicitly saying it. Likely because he dosent want to shit on Michy. I think Cavani is the one he wants (hence the repeated allusions to short term) but I think the board is saying no due to his age/wages. ChelseaFanUK 1,014
Big 6 days ahead. BIG 6 days. Sometimes i listen to Frank and think, he wants more than 1 body in this window. But what is clear, is the club are working on something, its mentioned at the end of that clip. Just get it right, ffs. The board simply cannot allow this window to pass us by. They just can't. I've said it for ages, Marina should not be in charge of transfers. If i was Roman i'd be after a proven DOF with a track record of getting deals done. Leonardo at PSG would be my choice. When they want someone, they get them. (provided the rumour is true) Monchi, even Peter Kenyon back Muzchap

It's not like it's a 2 year deal totalling £50m or whatever. The total outlay for Cavani on loan would be £12m. That is loan fee and wages. When you consider that Utd were quoted £4m to loan Slimani and his wages on top, let's say that equals 8-9m all in. Cavani is a no brainer. £12m is fuck all when we are sitting on about 200 odd from the summer business outwards and various other revenues. ie. TV, commercial.
