Yeah they like taking a risk every time and putting all eggs into no other clubs jumping in the last second. They did the same with Caicedo and once another team came in we ended up paying 20m more for him.

That wasn’t the case at all, Liverpool did that so we would back of lavia, and it backfired because we just bought both

Early on in the summer they wanted 100m for Caicedo and we kept lowballing with 80-90m because we assumed nobody else was going for him. Liverpool went all in for him but didn't expect Caicedo to reject them.

So you want to overspend on every deal even before teams come in? Daft logic

No I want to overpay if needed for real talents or top players to make sure we don't risk losing them. They got mugged off with Gittens like no tomorrow a month ago.

You haven't even watched a full game of Gittens.

You have probably never seen the kid play, you have no idea if he’s good or not, so you cannot say we have been ripped off

He could end up being world class for all I know but we clearly overpaid for him right now, a player that wasn't even a starter and Dortmund wanted to get rid off.

Does feel a bit odd how long we’ve gone in “advanced” negotiations without actually completing these deals. Hato seems nailed on at this point judging by what Fabrizio said last night but something feels off with Simons.

I don’t feel confident at all right now that we’ll get Simons done. I suspect what’s taking so long is that both sides are digging their heels in deeply at their hardline valuations and neither are budging. So I can see us walking away and just getting fucking Garnacho.

The slowness for me is down to the multitude of things happening all at once. We have two blokes trying to get signings over the line and also bodies out of the door and quite a few at that. I'm not worried by it, just takes time and the fact Romano is saying here we go soon on Hato means finer details to be sorted, and on Simons that will get done

Yeah, this sounds plausible and I hope it’s the case.

But I’m almost getting Maignan vibes from the Simons deal. The club were given the impression by someone that a deal could be done for a low price, we bid said amount with genuine desire from the player to move, but then the selling club say nope, we want much more.

I wouldn't sell Enzo unless we receive a 150m+ bid.

Yes, it would have to be a sizeable offer although, in a negotiation, I might blink before we get to £150m. My parameter would be the cost of the left winger we aim to bring in + the cost of Rogers. That said, if Rogers was interested in forcing a move away from Villa rumours about that might have started circulating by now. If they are out there I haven't come across them so hopes of getting him this summer look unrealistic.

If we don't count a few exceptions, he just tweets what other journalists have already said.

i mean, fabrizio writes the same tweet 10 times in 4 days. that is by far worse and more annoying than what jacobs does for example
