False 9 doesn’t work when you are chasing a goal and the entire opposition sits in their box. Neither does Jackson in that scenario. we don’t have that player atm. I’m not saying DCL is the answer obviously given he’s pretty poor overall player, but we need someone in that mould.

Jackson has already made it at this level. I look at the whinging on here about a striker and then I watch Villa against Arsenal - and if Jackson had the game Watkins just had most of you would all be saying how Jackson is shit and can't finish, and how we need a proper 9. Yet Watkins on here gets praised as if he is an absolute gun, and saw a lot of people saying they wish we had him. bigbluewillie, Vesper and Costa19

That’s your opinion, and I don’t agree that he has… at least not yet. the mere fact you mention Watkins suggests we may be using different standards here. whats happening 1,634
id rather not sign anyone than sign dcl. not only he's not good enough, he's also injury prone.

Last year if you remove penalties, harland only scored 1 more goal than Watkins and he would be the 2nd best goal scorer in the league. You mentioned Giroud in your previous post. I’d rather bring his 40 year old ass back from LAFC than buy DCL. 🤣 robsblubot

And yet, none of us would have to think long about which one to sign given the opportunity. I always respect accomplishments, but I'm not a fan. I'm also not a fan of Toney. I just happen to think that big club players demand a bit more than that. I'd rather let Jackson play than acquiring either one for ex; Jackson's biggest shortcoming IMO is mentality, and he's young enough to improve on that. No, he's never going to be a Giroud in the air, that's not him, but he's a good footballer who could still improve and become a great striker, but he's not there yet, IMO. Mário César 1,343
funny how I see that with maresca the management has a long term plan. let's give up more miserable years with the hope that in a few years it will be, with a coach who was in the championship it's absurd

For me Tino has better attributes but he still manages to be less productive than Ruben. Every once in a while he would burst into life and blow people away with what you can do on football pitch. In most of his matches however, he spent most of his time simply not affecting the game at all. I hope he can have an impact for Empoli and perhaps, in time, earn a move to a bigger Italian Club. We would have gotten £17m for him from Lokomotiv Moscow if not for his injury on loan (with option to buy that they said they were going to exercise) there. That is well over £20m in today's quid. Idiots. Same fools who have tossed out closing in on 300m quid (yes closing in on 300 million!) on keepers and CBs and yet have basically fuckall to show for it atm in terms of anything remotely world class. Insanity. I am FAR from an expert on transfers, but I know cockwombles at work when I see them.
Costa19 858
Seems like no big club really rate David to be honest. I mean, if he’s as good as some people make him out to be and if he’s available for only 20m why haven’t any big club signed him already? Crazy wage demands? (Seems unlikely) Problematic stuff in his backpack? Or maybe he’s just one of many average strikers playing in France/Germany/Netherlands etc. robsblubot

I wouldn’t even give him 250k when he’s unproven in the PL and his injury record. VO scored 1 more goal in Serie A than Jackson did his first season in the PL. Pizy 18,994
Buying another CB at this point would be ridiculous unless/until we move on 2 of the current ones. Trev + one of Disasi or Badiashile.

Vesper 30,310
Chelsea https://thedailybriefing.io/i/148030669/Chelsea Mykhailo Mudryk has new agents as he has joined ProStar Football Agency. He will now be represented by Ukrainian agent and company CEO, Vadim Shabliy, together with Nikita Tyatkov. Enzo Maresca on goalkeepers: “If the level continues to be the same, then probably Robert will be the Premier League starting goalkeeper and Filip in the Conference League or the domestic cups.” Enzo Maresca on whether Chelsea will sign a new striker: “If we have the chance to bring in a nine that can help us and make the difference… then we are gonna try.” Willian Estevão has been called up by the Brazilian national team for the upcoming games in September. The 17 year old winger signed for Chelsea in June, joining them in July 2025. Gallagher, Félix, Sterling, Servette… Si Phillips has a lot to get through in his brilliant Chelsea update.
