The 'problem of Reece James' must be a big part of why Tino left in the first place. Tough to see him rushing back to face being blocked again. In any case, I want to see improved defensive output from Tino before I'd support him coming back to share RB/RWB duties.

True but on the other hand the amount of games we play, the competitions we are in and Reece being unavailable for a couple of months for 2 seasons in a row now could sway him.

But yeah especially since he is coming back from an ACL would need to see more from him before pulling the trigger.

Yes, I would try to sell him that if he shows better defending. This is why I wrote of him 'sharing' RB/RWB duties with Reece. If Tino can dispel the doubts about his defensive contribution he would get enough game time and would be a powerful addition to our squad. If he does not show better defensive qualities however there can be no place for him back at The Bridge.

I was a big fan of Tino's during his academy days, so I watched a fair bit of him at Saints. I didn't like what I saw defensively. His positioning was frequently awful.

Did it say why FSG decided to sell LFC?

At first they said that they would invite new shareholders, since that time the main owners in the FSG group have said they would be interested in a complete buy out.

Strange the sell out, but they have made a massive return. Bought for 300 million and now to sell for multi Billion is insane.

Because Chelsea was sold recently they can use that evaluation to ask for more for Liverpool.

Interesting that four Dubai groups have contacted the U.S. group that is handling the evaluation and sale of the club. All four of the approaches have stalled once they were shown the level of financial verification that would be required to place a binding bid.

This is one of two reasons they are selling. They saw our price and want similar. Other reason is disappointment over failed Super League project.

It is not really about buying players every now and then, it is about bringing out the best in them. You can't buy a player and then limits his ability with a very poor style of play. Then we start saying let's buy Mr X and Q. I see no point in it. If Halaand was here with the way we play, he would struggle.

I think players like Haaland would rip it up anywhere but when we sign players purely on potential like Havertz, Pulisic who show signs here and there but are still inconsistent they get lost here same as those with nice highlight reels in tinpot leagues like k2 and Ziyech or system reliant  players like Sterling or Werner

the only players who work regularly for us are those who have obvious world class ability , maturity and consistency beyond their years such as Kante, RJ or those who identify with the club and make up for lack of talent with mentality and passion like Azpi, Mount

we desperately have to make sure we only buy players from the latter categories
