For those that don’t grasp why some of us that like Colwill want Gvardiol(even though it’s unlikely we’ll get him)but don’t want us to sign Ake:

Gvardiol is only a threat to Colwill starting this season.to play at LCB before moving inside to replace Silva.most of us “Colwill fans” accept he shouldn’t be a regular starter this season,just be a massive upgrade over Sarr will be a realistic goal.

buying Ake however for say £40m kills Colwill’s career at Chelsea..Ake has played at several positions but he’s only good at LCB really.he’s not gonna move inside unlike Gvardiol should in a year.Colwill inside possibly maybe someday but Gvardiol has played on the inside of a back 3. 

i’d only be marginally interested in a one year loan deal for Ake until we have a better shot at Gvardiol (although many teams we’d have to fight with for him)

Sterling is so not a wingback, he would be a disaster there, he is short AF (listed 1.70m and I say more like 1.68m, so a full 20cm shorter than Alonso, for instance) and not exactly know for his defence, so we would get lit up by opposition LW'ers, AMF's, and CF/SS's

and Emerson and Maatsen (Maatsen is even shorter than Sterling at only 1.67m) are NOT acceptable options

Yeah Sterling is AWB esq. Good defensively but you'd be wishing we had Victor Moses back with the way Sterling goes forward.
