Tbh Werner is the only one ahead of Dembele in packing order. Like I said  before if club have some inside info about Werner's future (joining other club) we should be all in for Dembele.

Or it just depends on how desperate are we now...

Another option for summer

he HAS to be included on the VERY short list of acceptable strikers (28yo and under)

these are it (and some/most are near impossible)

Mbappe (pipe dream)

Lautaro

Werner

Håland

Icardi

Dybala

Gabriel Jesus

then a drop down

Dembele

Raúl Jiménez (age is an issue, he is 29 in 3 months, at the beginning of May, so we would get ZERO full sub 30yo seasons out of him)

maybe, maybe Victor Osimhen (getting into dice rolls here already, same as with Alfredo Morelos and Dominic Calvert-Lewin)

end

if they are not on there, they are too old (Lewa, Ciro Immobile), too young and inexperienced and unproven in a Big 5 league (not saying we should not look into a young one for 3rd option, like Fedor Chalov, Donyell Malen, Marcus Thuram  João Pedro, Myron Boadu. or Josh Maja), or will not be sold or will not come, or are too much of a gamble (Belotti, Gabigol, Milik, Piatek, Jovic, etc., for instance).

Dortmund are one of, if not THE most savvy club in Europe. You honestly believe they'd insert a €60m release clause in the contract of one of the most sought after young players in the world? 😂😂😂 Sounds like bullshit and terrible business.

He/his agent likely did insist that there's a set release clause. But it's probably like 200m. He's probably got his eyes on Real Madrid in a couple of years.

Not sure how reliable The Sun is, but evidently there is more discussion between the clubs about Dembele. More outlets jumping on the Robin Gosens story too.

lol, that Sun article also says we are battling Barca for a 21yo RB (NOT LB) in the 2ND TIER league in Switzerland

Zé Luís denied a work permit for Spuds

deal off

as Brexit starts to really hit, expect to see this a lot more (especially with Euro players, as freedom of movement will be gone)

This is nonsense by the way. Brexit has nothing to do with it and won't affect 99.9% of footballers. It even days in that article that the reason is because he's never sorted a European passport.

I was not talking about Zé Luís

and if you think that Brexit taking away the right of free movement for Europeans will not have an effect on footballers

you need to go read up on transnational labour/immigration law

why do you think it is so hard now for non EU players to get a work permit unless they can prove they are internationally recognised talents

the FA also wants to cut down on the number of foreign players (the EPL is against this) and change what constitutes 'homegrown'

How might Brexit affect the Premier League?

https://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2019/feb/14/how-might-brexit-affect-premier-league

snip

Brexit could mean players from EU and European Economic Area countries are subject to the same, visa and work permit restrictions as players from countries outside the EU, making the criteria for signing players stricter and making it harder for teams to trade.

snip

numpty Little Englanders who voted Leave just assumed the EU would bend over like a bish (pro tip, it isn't happening) and also never took into account so many consequences on so many facets of British life itself (including football)

of course maybe you side with Colin

IFS, maybes and more scare stories. Believe it when I see it. Don't think brexit needs discussed in a transfer thread anyway tbh

Not the brexit issue itself I agree, but the way brexit might impact transfer regulations is a legitimate, and interesting, conversation for this sub-forum I think.

Imo Brexit is very unlikely to affect transfers because the UK government appears to want to move to a points based immigration policy. This esstentially means poor immigrants get locked out (unless they are in industries with dire needs) and rich immigrants get in and it is easy £££££ for the government. No way, do the UK make it difficult for a PL player to come and play here as they make too much money off of them.

Argue all you want about Brexit and immigration but rest assured, the UK will allow in as many multi-millionaires that pay tax as they can get.
