Reports said agreement with Simons was almost done, 2 days later and still nothing on it.

Leipzig want 70 million and we still have to sell players to meet the UCL financial quota.

Ideally Felix + Nkunku would be sold by now

We had to sell £70m worth to hit the UEFA quota no? We've sold around £105m so should be fine

If Hato isn't agreed, I get the feeling Arsenal may jump in last minute, they were very keen on him earlier on in the window and Arteta likes his defenders.

They have MLS, Calafiori and Gabriel in area where Hato operates.

I just went through the UEFA Settlement agreement doc and it doesn't mention 70 million anywhere.

It says we have to have a positive transfer balance in order to register all new players in List A for the Champions League.

The Club agrees to be subject to a sporting restriction and, as a consequence, may not
register any new player on its List A to UEFA club competitions unless the List A Transfer
Balance is positive.
• The List A Transfer Balance is defined as the difference between the cost savings from
outgoing players (“Cost savings”) and the new costs from incoming players (“New costs”) at
any applicable deadline for the Club’s submission of its List A.

and Veiga sale has hit a snag

Yeh because Atletico went and signed another defender.

Madueke/Petrovic sales help but if we're going to spend 70 + 40 to 45 for Simons & Hato, we will definitely need alot more in sales.

Still nothing, huh? 🫤

If we’ve been in direct club to club talks for 3 days now and if the player is as keen to come here as some have suggested then I wonder what the holdup is?

I heard Liverpool found another 70 million in their transfer war chest and they want to announce Simons and Isak together 😆

But it won't be straight up ins and outs over the Summer 2025 period, it will be the value when amortisation is taken into consideration.

As far as my minimal understanding goes, we just needed to raise approximately £70m in sales this summer, which we have done.

It’s funny, up until the beginning of this week when we were first after him Xavi wasn’t even on my radar as a potential Chelsea player. He was never really a name linked with us from what I recall.

But now that I’ve been watching loads of footage and highlights of him this week I think he would be the most exciting signing we make this summer.

I’d be super let down if we don’t get him now. Hopefully some positive updates today from the big reporters.

Ffs Osimhen it's clearly going to Galatasaray for a month and still not official. So no, we don't need news about Hato and Simons today. Some of you do this for every player every transfer window. For Gittens and Joao Pedro I remember same comments just a couple of weeks ago.

Have you seen how the deal is being structed?

Whatever is going on with Simons isn't comparable. We just have to be patient at this point. If this stalling meant a move for Rogers or Yildiz (as reported) were to materialise, I'd be pleased.

👀💥Response from an RB Leipzig fan.

I've been at the training camp in Donaueschingen every day since Wednesday, as I live there.
I saw Xavi Simons the day before yesterday and yesterday, but not today.
His brother is also currently in Donaueschingen, as is his agent.
