He is never gonna be the right guy if we want to play with our GK in buildup with lots of passes around our box comfortably. Like I’ve been saying since the Maignan ordeal, I think once that move didn’t happen the club have ceased attempts to get a new keeper this window. They figured Maignan for dirt cheap was too good to pass up and saw a crazy “market opportunity” as the saying goes. Once Milan played hardball we walked away. Sanchez will have until January to again show he should stay. So the club should now be prioritizing Cucu cover and getting Rodrygo/Fofana to complete our team. I’ll enjoy the 30% of the season they’ll be on the pitch and looking brilliant but we’ll never be able to fully count on them.
