That is the issue..Gittens actually would be a great option at LW in a 4-3-3 fast transition set up. But in a 4-2-3-1/3-3-3-1 it's not LW or LF types but LM we need. There is some players in our squad that can work well in multiple formations, roles etc..but vast majority the former is where they excel and same goes for players we are linked with.

Although we have need in other positions the one thats causing me most anxiety (relatively because i don't really do anxiety) is not having a viable back up to Cucurella. The guy is a work horse but we are currently fooked if he gets injured or suspended.where as every other position has other options we can work with. Looks like Hato is slipping away..

Without the 3rd grade european mickey mouse cup i'm not so sure Maresca is going to blood our huge potential youngsters enough. Persisting with Gusto over Acheampong,Nkunku over George,Reece out of position over Santos or Essugo.Sanchez over Penders,Jackson over Guiu etc..

Some youngsters arent ready for extended roles but when one has a great game then is left out for a relative veteran who keeps on failing which of them should truly be classed as not ready..thats deciding based on numbers on a birth certificate rather than merit.

I think Chelsea would get Barcola with a small chance but in return they get Andrey Santos who they have PSG wanted for a long time!!!!

I’d rather give Santos a chance. Barcola is good but can be hit and miss with his end product.

How much could Juventus actually give us for Jackson?

Hate seeing these Italian clubs in for our players. You can automatically assume its a loan or at half the price the player is worth.

Still find it super unlikely that we sell Jackson. But if he does go to Italy I think he’d do extremely well there.

Will he really though?

I mean he is going to be playing in games where they will be cagey and a lot more tactical. Given how awful he is technically and the severe lack of space behind teams in Serie A, generally don’t think he will do well at all.

And he is never going to become an extremely clinical finisher, that much is clear.

Who cares if it means we get rid of him? I don’t think relying on him has helped us achieve anything significant in the past 2 seasons and its better to take something for him whilst we can. Because it won’t be often we have several teams interested in him.

Means we can get another CF in and have Delap as a back up.

Cant afford to go into the season with Jackson & Delap as our 2 CF options. Just like with Jackson & Guiu last season.

That's a bad trade for Chelsea. Andrey Santos is high on lot of Europe-wide midfield metrics

Would make sense why he hasn't featured in the CWC yet and the fact that Maresca chose Reece to play midfield, even though he was fit and sitting on the bench...

If he doesn't play minutes in the next game, those transfer rumors will continue to grow

Well..this is a club that moved out Chalobah only to recall him out of desperation 6 months later.

Wouldn't be surprised if Maresca and co. adopt another warped strategy that involves freezing certain players with a view of shipping them.

Wish the media asked more pointed questions and ask Maresca what he intends to do with returning loanees like Santos.

We know Maresca has very little power, if any. It is a call made by BlueCo

He has some power, he gave KDH a free premier league opportunity.

That was a typical PSR/swap bullshit deal that these owners/directors are renowned for because it's about their limit and got Maresca coming the other way, it's when they have to sit around the negotiating table and fight for a signing they have an issue, they either over pay or walk away, see Maignan
