Vesper 31,104
Sources: Chelsea taking injury precautions, Noni Madueke decision not clear, Best winger options leaves Mudryk out, Full news roundups, and much more... The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Wednesday 18th October 2023! https://siphillipstalkschelsea.substack.com/p/sources-Chelsea-taking-injury-precautions Morning all, It’s that midweek feeling and I hope you are all having a good one so far. It’s been a typical quiet international break but thankfully that’s coming to an end now. Although I think the next one comes next month!? What’s that all about!? Even still, there’s so much to discuss, read, and ponder, and we have had a focus once again this week on Chelsea’s injury problems. They are slowly getting better and one day we might dream of a fully fit squad. Chelsea’s decision makers have been stepping up with precautions for injured players this international break, and I have a sourced article here explaining exactly how and what they have been doing to kick things off today. We are waiting on the fitness of a few players this week being assessed before Saturday’s big game against Arsenal. But if some of those players are fit, who will be our best winger options? Well, based on the votes in this community, it’s Mykhailo Mudryk who misses out on Saturday. Have your say, read mine, and see the community votes on that in here. Noni Madueke is another winger knocking hard on Mauricio Pochettino’s door after having a superb international break. The 21-year-old scored three goals in two games for the England U21s but he faces a big problem, and that is the form of the others ahead of him. More on that in here and whether our community want to see him loaned out in January or not. Finally for this newsletter, grab all your latest Chelsea news, transfer rumours, quotes, and much more from across the last 24 hours in the same place here. Enjoy your Wednesday people, see you all on the live blog from around 8am today! Peace, Si.
Vesper 31,104
Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli will be banned for seven months, reports Sky Sport. Decision approved by Turin Prosecutor's Office for betting on illegal platforms — to be announced soon. More info here. Fagioli after his seven month ban: “I thought to start apologising to Juventus fans and all the football fans around the world after my mistake… …but I’m shocked by fake stories on the newspapers — full of fake details just to put me in a bad light. I’ll clarify soon.”

Vesper 31,104
Ivan Toney ready to leave Brentford https://thedailybriefing.io/i/138094949/ivan-toney-ready-to-leave-brentford Many clubs are keeping an eye on Ivan Toney, and he’s another big name to watch for January. Arsenal and Chelsea are informed on Toney’s situation, they know his situation very well and that he’s ready to make a top club move in January. It will depend on how much these clubs want to spend, because Toney will likely cost at least £60-65m to sign from Brentford. Let’s see if Chelsea decide to attack the situation, or if Arsenal go for him, or someone else, because, for example, we know Tottenham didn’t end up signing a direct replacement for Harry Kane in the summer, though they are very happy with their squad. In any case, Toney is absolutely ready to leave Brentford, so let’s see if it’s January or next summer, and of course, as always, let’s respect Brentford in this saga, because they will insist to receive important money for their star player. Vesper 31,104
Trevoh Chalobah 90% likely to leave Chelsea this January https://thedailybriefing.io/i/138094949/trevoh-chalobah-likely-to-leave-Chelsea-this-january Another player to watch is Trevoh Chalobah, as I can confirm now that my information is that he will leave Chelsea in January. You may remember that Chelsea were prepared to let him go to Nottingham Forest in the final hours of the transfer window, only for the player to say no. Bayern Munich were also interested in Chalobah and their interest remains, while there are now other clubs as well. Chalobah loves Chelsea but he wants to play, so he is prepared to go. A January exit now looks 90% guaranteed, so let’s see how this develops, but in all likelihood he will be on his way out of Stamford Bridge. One player Bayern are not currently in talks to sign is former Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, despite what has been reported elsewhere. Real Betis spoke to Sokratis but there was no agreement between the two parties so the deal collapsed. Bayern are not speaking to Sokratis as of now, they’re happy with the squad they have; in case they change their mind, Sokratis would be super keen on the move. Vesper 31,104
lol at anyone who wanted Neymar here over the past few years Al Hilal have officially announced that Neymar tore his ACL and his meniscus in Brazil’s World Cup qualifier against Uruguay. Neymar: “It’s very sad moment, the worst of my life. I know I’m strong… but this time I need support of my family and my friends. It’s not easy to get injured, undergo surgery and then… do it again just four months later. I have faith, I leave it in God’s hands.”

MoroccanBlue 5,399
Di Laurentis basically hinted we may make a move for Osimhen. Whispers £90m may be the fee. Thinking a strike force of Osimhen, Jackson and Nkunku (during AFCON) may be the way forward. bigbluewillie

I'd pay 90-100m for Osimhen over 60m for Toney. Vesper and bigbluewillie

Magic Lamps 11,692
Problem remains that with Jackson also missing games bc of Afcon we would be without a striker for a month every two years. They are also very similar in terms of playing style so not sure if paying a huge sum for a striker for the umpteenth time is the way to go here. It sounds comical but by the crazy standards we have set ourselves, 90m or even 120m would actually be reasonable for a healthy Osimhen if he continues to perform like last season and started this one.
