🤣

he is actually 3 and half inches or so (a little less) taller than Martinez

1.83m versus 1.75m

and that 1.75m is likely bullshit

that said 1.83m (and also, Raya doesn't have long arms, they are not Kepa (for Kepa's height) short, but deffo not super long) is TOO short for a Chels keeper as teams play aerial crossing balls versus us a lot

Disasi is great defender from my understanding. Biggest weakness very slow. But Silva is as well. You can cover that with good reading of the game.

In 19/20 season, his last one in Reims they conceded least goals in Ligue1. Played with BB already.

I still expect Silva-Colwill to be starters with them backups.

Terry was no greyhound either

Humphreys looked good, looked like everything you want in a CB. Is he going to be sold, contract i believe expires in 2024. IMO he looks at the very least more promising than Chalobah.

True, Humphrey looked good – a real prospect. For me, he looks much better than Chalobah. Shame Humphrey will not get actual chances to prove himself here. And ironically, Chalobah is the one who has a lower ceiling/less talent but gets so many chances to show his actual capabilities in the first team.

Even though Disasi looks great already, there are some mixed feelings about this transfer; it's like a slap in Humphrey's face when the club suddenly just splashes a big fee for another really talented CB. If everything goes well, it will lock one spot for our starting CB for a long time. Buying Disasi means fewer chances for young CBs as promising as Humphreys to break into the first team, and probably it also reduces the number of appearances for Colwill as well

Anyone know if Disasi has played CDM before?

Lots of talk on Youtube of people thinking he will be a mix of the two given his ball playing abilities and ability to carry forward.

He has only played dm once for a couple of mins. YouTube comments are often misleading. Yes from his highlight reel he has good ability on the ball and can hit it from range but he is not the first CB with a versatile skillset.  Would surprise me if he played anywhere besides CB for us

I hate to be the pessimist again but doesn't anyone feel like the circus is continuing? All of our signings have been busts apart from Enzo who we overpaid for after he had a WC under his belt. I had hope for fofana but alas :(. I have hope for the Brazilian lad that just got his visa though.

The truth is I would be more comfortable sealing caicedo no matter what and have chalobah/humphreys and colwill/badman with Silva alternating, rather than buy yet another mediocre player. Idk much about disasi but he definitely isn't gvardiol level. I can only imagine it's because poch doesn't rate one of chalobah or humphreys (who I know is a bit young but now his route to the team is blocked).

Arse, Manure and pool (our competitors for top 4) have all spent their 100-200m and are integrating their players in friendlies. We would be lucky to just sign a DM before the season starts. Hope if we've moved on from caicedo things will move quicker, but it's a big step down to lavia or kone.

Window has been exceptional, just need to flog CHO, Luka, Sarr and Ziyech.

Get in Caicedo for around 90m (80+10) at best, if 100 remains the ask then can move on.

If required another buy like Kudus or Olise for the 35-40m mark. Happy wih Maatsen playing a bit higher if we dont buy.

Cucu needs to sold or needs to be moved to a CDM role like a Lahm'ish position (If we dont get Caicedo).

Next season need to get rid of Sterling somehow, hope Saudi come calling.

Maybe we were after him before Disasi.

With Lukaku and Ziyech I think it will be very late in window because clubs know how desperate we are to get rid so we would have to accept any offers.

I'd be concerned about Ziyech considering he failed a medical for the Saudi league, not sure if any european clubs would be that keen on him.

We replaced Mount and Havertz with Nkunku and Jackson, with a +40mil buffer. And they look significantly better.

We've gotten rid of a lot of deadwood and massive wages.

Gusto has looked great - and solidifies an area we struggled with weakness.

Wingers looking better and Maatsen coming on has been great.

Found a solid, international level CB for cheap in this market to help with Fofana being down for majority of season.

Literally midfield is the only area we are light on where as a lot of problems have been fixed.

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear. I meant the signings from previous windows that have already had a chance to prove themselves like Cucu and Sterling. We all already know this though, My point was Midfield was where we were light for a few seasons now and it hasn't been addressed. Previous ownership is also to blame for letting it get to the point where we had to play Jorgi and Kova in a pivot when kante was perpetually injured.

The midfield signing is going to be very important in my opinion and we can't afford a bust in that position this season because we need top 4. This is my point. The midfield signing should've been prioritised as we have 1 friendly left and little to no chance of the signing to get to play with Enzo before the season starts.

No doubt the window has been great

The club has been ruthless in most decisions - spending 40m on an emergency cover CB. But what about GK? Club is still studying the market for GKs. Didn't bid for Onana/Raya and seem to be content with going into the season with Kepa

So in an ideal world remaining business would probably be GK, DM and RW/CAM?

Kepa/?

Reese/Gusto - Disasi/Thiago - Colwill/Badiashille - Chilwell/Cucu

? - Enzo

Madueke/? - Nkunku/Gallagher - Mudryk/Sterling

Jackson

+ Santos, Hall, Maatsen, Broja, Casedei, Angelo all in consideration for who stays and who loans? If they all stayed that would give us 25 players, which is the very upper end of what Poch wants. This is what Poch was eluding to in terms of tough choices as all of them have a solid case to stay. Personally I'd probably keep Santos, Maatsen and Broja. Keep Angelo only if we're not buying a RW/CAM. That would give us a squad size of 22 which I think is what Poch is angling for - but a far cry from what we're used to!
