Kind of puzzled as to why this is even a rumor. Why would we sell one of our better and most important players to a team we’re trying to compete with? It makes zero sense. And for these noises to pop up again as he’s rounding into his best form again is laughable.

Chilly and James should both be untouchable.

I can understand from the City perspective as they need some new full backs.

From the Chelsea side, I can only think it's something that has been highlighted slightly because a big thing has been made over players being sold if they don't renew contracts and whilst it's not an immediate necessity, Chilwell will have 2 years left in the summer. I think given his form and return to fitness it's almost a guarantee the club would rather get him locked down than sell him.

Even more so, if Potter ends up staying on beyond this season - I think Havertz and Chilwell will both get offered long term extensions in the summer.

EXCLUSIVE – Kovacic has offered himself to Milan: the situation | PM News

Mateo Kovacic, Chelsea midfielder, would be interested in wearing the Milan shirt in the summer. Here's what we found out

Matthew Ronchetti

March 12 - MILAN

The transfer market never sleeps and Milan , as a club that is always vigilant and attentive to the opportunities that the Italian and international panorama presents, obviously does not find itself unprepared. On the other hand, it is in this period that the foundations are laid for the negotiations which will eventually be developed next summer.

Milan transfer market: a meeting with Kovacic took place

According to what we learned during Milan's recent trip to London , where coach Stefano Pioli 's team faced Tottenham , eliminating them from the Champions League , the Rossoneri managers Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara had a very interesting market summit in the hotel.

In fact, the technical director and sporting director of the Via Aldo Rossi club met Mateo Kovacic , the Croatian midfielder born in 1994 at Chelsea and his entourage. Kovacic, a former Real Madrid and Inter Milan player, actually offered himself to Milan as he intends to leave the ' Blues ' at the end of the season. He would welcome a return to Milan after the years spent in the Nerazzurri.

Milan interested for the summer, under the right conditions

What was Milan's response? Maldini and Massara listened, interested, and registered Kovacic's desire for Milan . In the summer, therefore, if the technical and economic conditions exist, it is not excluded that Milan will make an attempt for the Croatian national team player. After all, Kovacic's name returns to the Rossoneri orbit: he had already been compared to the Devil at the time when he played for Real Madrid.

Kovacic's contract with Chelsea will expire on 30 June 2024 , so for the price tag, possibly, the economic outlay shouldn't be too high. Even as far as salary is concerned, we would be within Milan's parameters, given that, according to ' Calcio & Finanza ', the number 8 of the ' Blues ', in London, receives 2.86 million pounds net per season, equal to 3.2 million euros net per year. Milan market, identified the right man for the defense >>>

Let's go.

A couple of weeks ago it was reported that talks with Mount are put on hold until summer. Media and fans are speaking about him every day but there won't be any news next 3 months.

Can’t imagine us selling both Kova and Mount.

I can.

Zero issues with any of those leaving, providing we bring in one youngster and one experienced head for CM to supplement RLC/Kova.

It's clear partner for Enzo is priority in the summer. It will be expensive one for sure. With Kante new contract and Santos coming that should be 4 players for pivot. Gallagher can also cover.

Yeah, newspapers could write whatever, but that would be tampering, and there is no chance it really happened.

For all the complaints about new management and how "amateurish" they have been - they are getting rid of all the players that nearly the consensus on here have considered dead wood and not effective.

Not only that - they are buying with a clear picture/vision in mind. Pace up front is clearly being targeted. We have strong defenders with pace at the back. Great technical full backs now.

The only "fault" on the owners is the hiring of Potter - but there has been a little turnaround in results as of late.

If Kova stays fit for the remainder of the season and maintains his current form I don’t know how we can sell him.  He’s one of the best midfielders in the league when in form and someone you want in the XI in the biggest games.

Mount on the other hand is harder to justify paying the massive salary demand. With Nkunku, Havertz, and potentially Felix staying who can all play behind the new striker we buy, where does Mase fit going forward?
