Anyone has a read on how good is Moukoko? I saw Germany got him on at the WC and he plays centrally

Nowhere near being a serious first team alternative. If he's supposed to fill the Broja void, it'd be a stupid decision.

The closest thing you could compare Moukoko to is probably Batshuayi but with slightly better technique. Overall a decent package of athleticism and finishing, doing most of the basics right but struggling with some elementary things like holding up balls and reading of the game.IIf you dropped him into PL right now he would ultimately fail but he would also score  quite few goals. He has done so at any level and unrelated to overall performance, one of the few natural finishers at this age.

Overall, I think he has been hyped too much and ppl including him started believing it. The very reason we might get him is that he is actually not that crazy good yet but he has age on his side so if we take care in developing him he might become an above average striker but I do not see him as an  some MBappe level wonder kid or becoming absolute world class anytime soon - at least not at this club.

@Artandur

Interesting thank you ML. How would you say he [Moukoko] shapes up against Adeyemi now that they have both had time to settle? I ask because I really liked Adeyemi's technical level ahead of his move.

That's a tough one to give a fair verdict, cos Adeyemi only has 400mins in Bundesliga so far. For me Adeyemi he is not an out and out striker, rather an inside forward (being left footed). He is very fast in a light and elegant way, which makes him way more pleasing to look at than Moukoko. Technically Adeyemi is definitely more polished. Does a lot for the game, running off the ball, linking up with teammates well. But then he is also 34 months older. While Adeyemi's finishing is by no means bad he is streaky and misses a lot of chances game after game sometimes like Timo Werner, while with Moukoko you just know he is gonna score sooner or later even after a few terrible games. Being roughly the same height and slender frame, both have issues with the physical side of the game but for Moukoko it is less of a long term one due to his age. In short, while I think Adeyemi is and will always be the better, more technical, more well-rounded and versatile footballer, Moukoko will be the better pure striker.

agreed. but moukoko is simply not far enough to solve any problems for us right now, or even next season

Liverpool linked with both Enzo and Bellingham. Together. Not one or the other.

Smart if they are planning a complete midfield overhaul. After this year, we should have low expectations about signing the top young players.

Because they don't mess around in the transfer market.

They needed a defender, they got VVD, they needed a goalkeeper, they got Alisson.  They needed reinforcements in midfield, went out and got Fabinho & Thiago.

They wanted young talents as squad depth, they got Carvalho & Elliot.

Compare to that us, and it's truly shocking how much money Chelsea has blown on players that didn't really improve the squad (Pulisic, Ziyech, Havertz, Cucurella)

Liverpool has the same coach for 7 years. Their system is solid so they know which kind of players they need.

Players you mentioned were signed by the time of 3 different coaches(Sarri, Lampard, Tuchel) and now the 4th is in charge. No wonder we have many players who look like deadwood, despite their talent and skills.

and they need wingers they got Jota and Diaz

only expensive sort of bust was MFer Naby Keïta, and he was nowhere near Saul or Bakayoko level bad

plus he will walk with these trophies

Premier League: 2019–20
FA Cup: 2021–22
EFL Cup: 2021–22
FA Community Shield: 2022
UEFA Champions League: 2018–19
FIFA Club World Cup: 2019

I do not see them dumping over £200m (in theory could be close to £250m on the high end) on just two players

Chelsea ready to make most of Jorge Mendes influence to land Benfica sensation

Chelsea are looking to continue their trend of targeting Europe's most exciting you talent in the January transfer window by aiming to sign Benfica's Diego Moreira

Chelsea are keen on Benfica’s teenage starlet Diego Moreira.

Blues co-owner Todd Boehly is continuing to try to harvest some of Europe’s best youngsters to build for the future. The Stamford Bridge club splashed out this summer to secure teenagers Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei and Omari Hutchinson.

Chelsea were also recently chasing Brazilian starlet Endrick, from Palmeiras, but he is due to go to Real Madrid now. Blues, coached by Graham Potter, have now re-adjusted their sights to Moreira who is a left-footed winger who has been compared to Nani and Leroy Sane.

The Benfica ace and Portugal U19 international has already made a substitute appearance this term in the Champions League after making his debut last season. Moreira is under contract at Benfica until 2024 and the Portuguese league leaders are trying to extend his contract.

But Benfica are struggling to tie down the youngster, who is represented by Jorge Mendes’ agency, and may be forced to cash in on him in 2023.

Teenager Hutchinson joined from Arsenal in the summer and has already scored five goals for Chelsea's under-21 side in Premier League 2 before the World Cup break and made the bench for three first-team games without making it onto the pitch.

After travelling with the senior side for their midseason camp in Abu Dhabi, though, the youngster once compared to Eden Hazard has had a chance to impress the boss in a 1-0 friendly defeat to Aston Villa.

Potter said: "He was really good, dangerous and asked a question all the time. Throughout the game, he showed his quality but he wasn’t the only one. It was a spirited performance with a lot of young players so it was good."

Before adding: "It was a good game, [a] good performance from a young team playing against a really experienced Premier League side, so we've had a fantastic week, actually.

"[It is] Good to work with the boys that are here. Lads that have been injured have had a bit more time training and they've stepped their rehab on, so that's good. They're getting closer and it's been really, really positive to work in these conditions and we're happy with the week."

Every target is priced over 100m

not every one

these are the only ones who I wager will cost close to or over £100m (of the players actually available)

Jude Bellingham
Josko Gvardiol
Victor Osimhen
Rafael Leão
Enzo Fernández    (all sources said his release clause was €120, but now dodgy Marca claims €90m)
Declan Rice

these are the rest of the world class, club changing players, and all should be will be less that £100m, some well less, and one is free

João Félix
Dušan Vlahović
Jan Oblak
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Federico Chiesa (if healthy)
Florian Wirtz  (if healthy)
Nicolò Barella
Milan Skriniar  (if available will be a free)
Frenkie de Jong  (if available)
Ousmane Dembélé
Leroy Sané
Moussa Diaby
Moisés Caicedo
Bernardo Silva (if available)
