LAM09 7,100
I'm hoping this is nothing more than noise, as the rumoured deal is getting worse by the day. I was against signing him on a free or even a loan.
Pizy 19,377
I’d be stunned if he sees out all 3 years of his contract if this deal indeed happens. Really, unless he absolutely crushes it in his first season here I doubt he even comes back for a second one. We’ll bin him off to Galatasaray or Besiktas who love an old, past it star player. I think we are only doubling compared to the lower initial salary he got in his first years so will about match what he would get there from this season on https://www.marca.com/en/lifestyle/celebrity-net-worth/2022/04/03/6249644722601dc54a8b45a5.html
Blue Armour 4,759
Arsenal got rid of washed up players like Aubemayang and are integrating more of their youth players to play winning football. For some reason we are choosing to go the opposite direction with regards to players. Starting to reek of short-termism. Also, this isn't like how we once got Giroud from Arsenal. Giroud was signed as a pure squad option, namely to give us a target-man. His attitude was top notch and we benefitted from it.

Tbf, we’re still superior to Arse at every position on the pitch other than striker. I wouldn’t swap a single one of their best XI for one of ours. And our squad is much better as well. It’s definitely true that this Auba deal is questionable but there just aren’t many options out there.
blahblahblah 73
This auba deal has the tell tale Signs of being one of the worst in our or anyone's history. How the fuck did we get ripped off so bad Boycie

I was going to state otherwise, but @Vesper has done so. There are PLENTY of options, just a lack of top-quality options (Lukaku was supposedly in the bracket). shrenshah 186
Ronaldo on a 1 yr deal would be better ...he is hungry for accolades Auba may just not show up...3 yr deal is crazy

Maybe even more so because at least he’s played multiple seasons in the PL. 8 minutes ago, LAM09 said: I was going to state otherwise, but @Vesper has done so. No top class striker who stands out above everyone. To be clear, I don’t necessarily WANT Auba. I’m just at the acceptance phase of this window. I’ll give him a a chance and hope for the best. mkh

He isn’t a Haaland/Aguero/Lewa/Kane sort of level where I can see him coming to England and scoring 20 league goals. He looks good but not incredible to me. And for £100m I’d want someone less risky after the Lukaku debacle. mkh
