The thing with all these rumors of attacking players leaving is that we aren’t linked with any incomings. There is literally no chatter from anyone worth listening to about attacking signings.

It’s as though we gave up looking for anyone after Raphinha turned us down for Barca.

Fair enough.....everyone is entitled to their opinion....but  why does it always have to be so unremittingly negative....when I first started going to Stamford Bridge there was the joy of the 76-77 promotion season and then years in the doldrums, but I always had hope. We should try and remember that when looking hyper-critically at the current team.

Were you on the pitch after the Hull game? Great days.

To sign for example a winger you should sell one of your attackers. We have (Werner ,hakim, mount ,havertz ,batsuayi ,pulisic,Hudson,sterling)8 attackers ..and broja 9 attackers..

I largely think this window has been terrible due to Tuchel being in charge, it seems we lack a consistent plan and vision.

If you give to a person more strength it’s more easy to judge him for his choices because he has the power for everything about our transfer policy so if we  are not succeed at he end of the year then all the blame will be on him and the opposite of course .

Completely disagree. He identified the likes Sterling, Koulibaly, some top class CB’s and Raphinha as priority targets. The players he’s targeting are perfect for the way we play. The identification of players hasn’t been the issue. It’s the negotiating and signing part that has been dreadful. And I don’t think you can blame the coach for that since he has probably never been so involved in these matters before.

If the very first thing Boehly did when the takeover was complete was appointing a highly experienced DoF we’d surely be in a much better place right now.

It is his fault for perusing players that he couldn’t convince lol. We wasted incredible time this window chasing players that wanted either go elsewhere or stay at the their current club. Could have targeted Kounde from the get go, he would probably be a Chelsea player. Maybe prioritized Dembele.

Also lack of outgoing players. look at Conte he made it clear he wouldn’t waste time on players he didn’t want. Meanwhile Tuchel is wasting time with Bats, Barkley, Sarr, and Kennedy.

I am tired of the constant Tuchel aplologist on here, it’s never his fault. It’s either the players fault or the people above him, no accountability. Truth is if City won the CL final, people would look at his time here very uninspiring.

Based on quiet it is on the rumour mill I don't think we will sign anyone else.

I don’t think we’ll make another “wow” signing but I do think we’ll panic buy someone decent soon. Like Pavard. All the talk over the past few months about how active we’d be and how massive the investment would be turned out well… 😒

Oh, and I just saw on Twitter that Jesus scored a hat trick. He’s been scoring for fun all preseason. For the life of me I can’t understand why we didn’t make him a priority in addition to Sterling.

He's not blameless but this is misplaced. Agree - wasting time on Sarr, Kennedy, Bats especially over Vale, Gilmour was pointless.

But some perspective on the recruitment. Tuchel is not a recruiter and he was pushed into the role because of the circumstances - sale at the end of the season and no time to get a director in place. If we go fishing for quality players - Hakimi last season,  Sterling, Raphinha, K2 De Ligt - we have to accept Chelsea is not the big draw it once was for most players.

Among Tuchel's targets, only Kimpembe (he has coached him before) and Ake (didn't bid aggressively anyway) were the ones that were questionable. Dembele we were interested in but he signed for Barca even with a wage drop (would have been another pointless chase) and Kounde, I am not convinced is a huge mistake on Tuchel's part.
