I've mentioned Djed Spence as a possible RWB option but I wouldn't be against Sterling coming back and seeing if he can make the grade. At the very least I'd expect him to return for pre season which gives him an opportunity to show Tuchel what he's worth. The example is there last season with Chalobah for someone who looked like they just would not make it at that Chelsea level but something suddenly clicked.

I remember reading Tuchel liked him last summer but felt he was better going out on loan so maybe he's enthused to bring him back into the fold this summer.

@Vesper who is this?

I gave not really scouted him, he is on a shit team, not a Sr international level player (and turns 25 this coming season, so doubt he will be)

he is tall (1.92m) but is very thin, not a strong player

I have no idea why he is linked with us

he is miles below Schlotterbeck level IMHO

I guess in a situation like this if his contract is expiring and he's not going to command stupid wages, it might be a case of trusting Tuchel on this one.

I've just checked and he played for Dortmund II until 2019 so I expect Tuchel knows of him or has possibly worked with him in training.

As was mentioned in this very thread earlier this morning, Fofana literally just signed a long term contract a few weeks ago. He’s going nowhere and even if he hadn’t just signed we should avoid him after that injury.

And if we line up next season with Pulisic as a first choice starter we’re in trouble.

lol

Arsenal 'expected to make £35m Gabriel Jesus bid' after transfer chief Edu holds talks

in the minute equivalent of his last 3.5 full seasons (around 3800 per season)

Jesus has 94 goals

46 assists

for Citeh

140 total goals produced

40 per season for a full season's minutes

he just turned 25, could possibly be a double league/CL winner, and Citeh has an option to extend his contract (until mid 2024, as it stands it expires next summer)

and Arse thinks they can buy him for LESS THAN WE PAID FOR DRINKWATER 🤣

(adjusted for 5 years of inflation we paid around £38.5m for Drunkwater, £34.1m in mid 2017, grrr, which also show you the crazy inflation the past 5 years)

roflmaooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

After watching YouTube vids of Jesus when he was being rumoured join City as Aguero's replacement I posted to say that I'd be delighted if that happened because I didn't believe he was in Kun's league. For the same reason I'll be pleased if he moves to North London this summer.

P.S. Given the arithmetic you point out Arsenal should see it as something of a warning if City accept the bid. By accepting an offer of that size City would be accepting that his value has fallen. I'd say this reflects a better assessment of his level than the hype which accompanied his move to Manchester. If, despite this, Arsenal would aim to use Jesus as their main striker that would be a risk in my opinion.
