Rapkun 668
We won't sell to them. Not a chance. They're a direct rival for top 4. They refused to sell us players in the past and will continue to do so, there's also interest in him from abroad. Vesper
Superblue 6,372
The only way I can see Giroud going to Spurs is if we only let them have him on a loan deal for a large fee (say £10m and cover his wages in full) as opposed to permanent, in doing so preventing him from playing against us. It's not the ideal club to deal with but if we could create a large swing out of it, depleting their budgets whilst swelling ours, then we shouldn't fear selling squad players to Spurs. I don't really get this mentality, if Spurs offer decent money and Oli wants to go there I don't see why we shouldn't. The reason why they won't sell to us is we're only ever likely go after their top players, bid £10m for Michel Vorm and their "stance" goes flying out the window. Far as I'm aware we strictly don't do business with Spurs. Levy genuinely has some interesting vendetta against us. Mourinho may want Giroud, but I doubt Levy even approached us. Taking Willian off them at the last minute probably didn't help either. I don't think there's a no business understanding in place, but dealings with rival clubs are always much more difficult and ego driven as both clubs strive to get the better side of the deal. Levy can think all he wants he's some mastermind of the transfer market. When Redknapp was there as manager it genuinely felt like it was Del Boy and Rodney trying to wheel and deal every summer. Vesper 30,186
Chilwell £80m LB X £30m (or we keep Alonso and just plan on getting fuckall for him when his contract ends, which will be a £45m loss from his non-sale plus be spattered if Chilwell goes down) DMF (or keep Kante and then start to massively loss huge chunks of his £100m value plus not fill a gaping need, so I am going to say zero spend here, just to prove my overall point) Sancho £120-130m (minimum) Winger X £50m CF (around £50-70m whether Werner (pipe dream) or Dembele) 3rd string CF £10-15m so that is a gross spend of £310-345m and that is IF we do nothing at the 2nd LB and do nothing at DMF, do nothing at AMF and nothing at GK, nothing at CB, nothing at CMF and also £100m less income if we do not sell Kante LOLOL as if we are going to dump in well over 300m in one window (especially if we miss out on CL again) and after we just took a near £100m loss overall for only 4 or 5 (the 3rd string CF costs fuckall) players Even if we do NOT buy a 2nd winger and just renew Willian for 2 years, it still means around 300m or so, as he will cost 20m in salary and then you are talking about only buying 3 or 4 players for around 300m and still leaving gaps all over and also FUCKS us if we nightmarishly have to rely on Willian for 2 more years (no chance a 4th winger will not play) just showing what we are being set up for by the board and also by the consensus of who are targets and also how much is being shoved off until just one short window great chance it turns into a pure shitshow if we start failing on the big 3 targets as well Atomiswave
Strike 7,490
Not worried about lack of signings. Of all the moves made in January, I don't see anyone other than few exceptions like Haaland, Minamino, that look like good deals. (they had release clauses to leave) Best to wait till the summer and strengthen massively

Jase 43,479
7 hours ago, Superblue_1986 said: Let them. If United get the Fernandes deal over the line then Solskjaer would have spent around £200m in the last 6 months and they still look a long way off the pace. If anything Fernandes joining is only likely to facilitate Pogba leaving in the summer and if that happens it certainly won't make United look any stronger at least on paper. For a club as 'cheap' as Spurs, they went big in the summer for N'dombele and Sessegnon. The loan move for Lo Celso was always likely to happen because they paid a large loan fee and I think was more to do with pushing deals potentially across transfer windows and accounts. And now spending a sizeable chunk on Bergwijn. With the noose of the stadium being paid off, if they don't get top 4 this season I can't see them spending much next summer unless Mourinho and Levy are prepared to sell one of their bigger assets to raise funds. I know it's frustrating seeing others make deals and I personally wouldn't mind us bringing in a new attacker to compete with Tammy but I would rather we be aiming for a better calibre of player than both of these are in for at present. I know it's always gonna be a catch 22 situation and it may be better to not do anything silly but at the same time, I can't help but feel we're playing with fire by not doing anything. 3 days left of this transfer window and we don't seem to be doing anything. We aren't exactly in Leicester's position in the Top 4 race, being 14 points ahead of 5th and all.

ChelseaFanUK 1,014
Giroud has 6 months left on his deal, an offer of 6-7m say, from anyone, has to be considered. Or he goes for nothing in June. I actually could see him go to Spurs. NikkiCFC
