I assume that is how it works. Every club knows players preference destination due to inside information. For example Werner in the Germany dressing room speaks with teammates (Rudiger) or even in the club (Ampadu). If James Rodriguez doesn't want to play in the PL I'm sure all top clubs are aware of it so they don't bother with negotiations with other clubs.

I agree, but Bayern will not sell him now, and I so doubt in the summer either unless he refuses to renew, in which case they will sell and for less as he walks on a free in June 2021. 

He is their best CB atm as Hernandez and Süle are out with long term injuries, Süle for the year more than likely.

Its £80m for Chilwell, and yes, he looked like dogshit today.

No way is he worth £80m if that is how he plays half the time (or even 15-20%).

For £83m we could buy BOTH Telles AND Grimaldo. 

And do it in January as they have release clauses.

Sell Alonso and Emerson, that brings in around £60m or so. Inter and Juve want them badly.

So for around £23m we have just MASSIVELY upgraded our weakest position TWO DEEP.

And Lamps is getting WAY too comfortable playing the utterly dismal (at that position only) Azpi at LB. He is nucking futs if he thinks Azpi is a viable LB for us for a year or two more. It is capitulation. It destroys our entire left side attack.

I can see this (if Lampard goes that route of Azpi as our main LB) becoming the number one thing in all sports that slowly drives me bonkers. It will fuck us up and badly so. Surely Frank cannot be THAT foolish, especially when just a small amount of quid massively flips the script.

Hell, that Gosens bloke from Atalanta looks streets ahead of all 3 options we have now. He is on pace to score around 15 goals with 10 assists in a full (3500-3600 minute) season as a left back. He scored tonight against the best defensive team in Serie A, Inter, and helped set up a potentially game-winning pen (that they missed, lolol).

Not ever really been sold on Chilwell for £70m+. Some of his performances in Nov-Dec made me think twice but I cannot help thinking he is like Cresswell who played well for about six months when he went to Wet Spam and then suddenly got linked with top dollar transfers. For me, Telles at £30m or Chilwell for £70m+ is not really a hard decision as whilst Telles isn't the greatest LB he is not £40m worse than Chilwell. 

As for signings this window we really need another CF. As great as Tammy has been he is still not the finished article and needs some competition. Werner is the dream but if not him then I am ok with Dembele as long as things do not get crazy fee wise. One player I am surprised we are not looking at is Immobile. That bloke is a goal machine in a top 4 league, not on high wages and at a middling club. I know he underperformed last time he went out of Italy but surely he must be worth a look.

You listen to the top players in sport and a lot of them say the game prep and build up is vital.

Wonder if Lampard might just sign Telles for 35m in this window him and James could be our TAA and Robinson. Both great crosses and would also leave more money for Sancho.
