Impossible to compare then vs now. He had a squad full of experienced talent many of whom could be considered to be amongst the best in the world in their position, with the experience to deliver results and manage games: Kante, Kovacic, Mendy, Azpi, Thiago, Rudiger, Jorgi, etc, and he got top 4 with 67 and then 74 pts, before Arsenal improved a lot and Newcastle, Brighton etc emerged. The league has been getting harder every year and is brutally hard now, everyone in the top 10 is pretty excellent.

Tuchel has now lost the league in Germany despite gaining Harry Kane who has chipped in 32 goals in 28 appearances.

Calling for him back is like calling for Mourinho back. Sure, they did special things here, with the squads and the state of football at the time, and the trophies they got were very impressive. But the situation at the club now and in the league now is just not the same and they do not have the patience to build something over time. Poch is pretty meh but he's much better suited to our situation than either of them would be, frankly continuing with Graham Potter would have been better than a move for Tuchel, Mou or Conte type managers. They are all phenomenal beasts in the right situation but this situation is not the one they excel in.

We were in the title race at the same level with citeh and pool until James and Chilwell's injuries until then we were playing pure football and even beating teams like Juventus 4-0.The team was assembled and needed slight improvements as a DM and someone to score the thousands of chances that Werner missed even people like CHO and RLC was class that season .

That is all true but it doesn't change anything that I said...

Tommy T won't become the second manager to take three different sides to the Champions League final. Shame, I d have liked him to complete that achievement.

Meanwhile, Harry Kane will end yet another season without a major trophy. You can take the boy out of Spurs....

I've heard that one of the punishments that the Premier League is considering for Man City is forcing them to have Harry Kane in their squad for the next 5 years. I think that 5 years without any silverware would be an appropriate punishment.

Best appointment the FA could have got in all fairness. We all know what TT can do when it comes to big games and particularly in game management. Plus Tuchel cannot fall out with owners/chairmen/sporting directors regarding transfers like he did here, PSG or Dortmund. So maybe international football will be an excellent fit for him.

Looks like a lot of outrage and usual talk from the usual has been idiots like Harry Redknapp, Dean Ashton, no doubt that fat nobody Jamie O’Hara and Garth Crooks will be next…. Obviously issue is TT not being English. Fuck me, who was the last great English manager? Sir Bobby Robson? Talking like theres a plethora of good English coaches available. I mean if that was to be the defining criteria that they go for an Englishmen, who would it of been? Sean Dyche, Eddie Howe or Graham Potter? Talk about scraping the barrel. Not only that, would say from the outside looking in, a huge reason why Southgate resigned was due to the discontent from the fans and media over style and manner in which they were getting results….

I mean the best managers to manage in the history of the PL are all anything but English - Pep, Fergie, Jose, Wenger, Klopp. Same with the best players to have played there. Could be the appointment that makes Englan take that next step - although as a Scotsman I hope not 😂

There's been some pretty good 'english' players who have starred in the premier league, we used to have a number of those guys in the World XI and other lineups over the years.

Lamps, Gerrard, Rio, JT, Ashley Cole, Scholes, Beckham, Shearer to name a few...😆

no English manager has ever won the EPL

here is every one who won the old First Division starting with the first of Stan Cullis's multiple titles
