We didn't give him any freedom on the pitch, he excelled under Carlo when he was allowed to roam forward a bit more, if you don't agree watch his both seasons under Carlo2. his poor attitude that nobody has ever sorted out, in attitude I mean his work rate not his ethics for this clubHe has played tremndeously well when his father was kidnapped in Nigeria, he never hesitated to NOT PLAY FOR HIS COUNTRY just to avoid an injury and be available for Chelsea, when the club asked him to do so.He has never hesitated to put pen on paper yeah you may say this is because there where no offers for him but I don't see it that way.He did quite some heroics for us but at the end didn't take the last step so far.Things whom don't look in favour of his selling are:Emenalo is Nigerian -> Mikel is Captain of the Nigerian NTMou was stating often about Mikel that he is like gold -> maybe he will try and improve himso I don't know if he leaves or not but if so, he is clearly not bigger then Drogs or Zola but still it will be somehow sad to see him leave and don't gett'n any credit at all by most of the fans, thats a shame...that said he is the only one to blame for because he never kept his level of worldclass performances he showed some times.His biggest problem was if he leaves, that he did an 6.5 Job nearly every game he played (last season final aside) but very rarely showed his other face...lets wait and see The only place to be and 1chelsea 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mikel is not terrible to have people 'celebrating' and posting stupid gifs at news of his potential departure. That should be saved for the really bad players like Torres, Kalou, Benayoun, Marin etc.I do hope he's sold because we just have too many players, and some people have to leave to make room. But he's a decent player, capable of contributing at an acceptable level at many teams. And I'd still rather have him in the team than Essien.Hopefully if he does leave, Romeu can be made backup to De Rossi/Capoue/whoever. He was also instrumental under RDM and was probably our best player in the CL final - that is enough good imo. He's very inconsistent that's for sure, but generally he does a good enough job - but unfortunately for him, fans have come to expect much more from that position having watched Maka and Essien in his prime. But this is not the same Essien, and he's only going to stay at Chelsea because of his Mourinho butt-kissing. Also, what you say of Mikel can also be said of Torres. His first 2 seasons at Chelsea were terrible, he did alright last season. But overall his production is nothing you would expect for a 50m striker, so everyone involved with the club should be happy to see the back of him really. Mikel cost what like 4m? (minus the extra we paid Man utd for all the complications ) and has been a main-stay in the team for a while now. We can get a better DM than him, but it's not like he isn't good enough to be backup. But like i said, we have many players, and there's Ramires and Romeu, so somebody has to leave. Some of his performances last season were atrocious and the disdain with which he treated the Europa League (before the Kazan leg, not the final where he couldn't wait to get his hands on the trophy) was pretty much the final straw.I thought maybe Mourinho could help reinvigorate him, but I honestly don't think we'll miss him with Lamps, Rami, Romeu, Ake, Chalobah and Loftus-Cheek here for the present and the future and people like De Rossi being mooted for him. But apparently there's a list of some players who can have gifs posted for them and some who can't - fuck know's what Marin did to be on that list apart from not being good enough.
