It's horrific and damn near ruins the entire game the way var used right now.

Does it's utmost best to ruin any excitement of a goal because everyone have to second guess if there may possibly have been the slightest of offsides at any point in the entire attack.

It was just pathetic yesterday how we celebrated the goal only to be left completely deflated while the away supporters were celebrating like they had just scored after the check which gave them a massive lift to go and extend the lead.

The way var is being used is only gonna benefit their darlings. What if Azpi hadnt scored and we get a corner instead? You think that corner wouldnt had been given.....I bet it would. Its setup is all wrong and thats on purpose imo.

Is there a way to incorporate margin for error in VAR?

If VAR does not see an excellent reason to change the rule on the field, it shouldn’t even bring anything up with the ref.

feel that VAR is especially and issue with the offset rule. Frank said that well after the game: the intention of the offside rule isn’t to detect an arm that is offside.

defenders got a lot of help from bar I think, esp regarding the offset rule. Don’t think that was the intention either.

VAR should only be used to get the big mistakes out – those you can see with human eye from 20 metres away. If you can't tell after 2 seconds of watching a STILL image whether there's an offside or not, then it's not offside. The way it's used right now to measure millimetres is worrying and is threatening to kill this sport.

It needs to become a lot faster. The way teams are celebrating goals for half a minute before being told that goal has been ruled out or is under investigation is unacceptable.

As I said yesterday, today a player is level with the opposition player but if the attacking player has a boner, VAR will look at it for a minute, zoom it in and say the player is offside. There is no benefit of a doubt anymore. Heck, last year the refs were still told to use the benefit of a doubt. If it's close, the attacking player should get an advantage. Now 1 milimeter is checked and detected.

Another thing that I am absolutely dreading. A couple of weeks back in the Czech football League there was this incident. Team A is attacking in the box, there is a chaos but suddenly Team B has the ball and goes counter attacking, and scores. But hey hey VAR is looking into the chaos and finds a foul, disallows the goal and gives a penalty to Team A. Like seriously?! This situation is perfectly possible in the PL too, with the current set up.

Fair enough. Disagree on tammy though... not even about the miss, but his overall play was really nonexistent.

id say his first 30min were a liability as he missed every pass and touch he attempted. I’d still not have subbed him and certainly not for bats as he improved a bit from those initial 30mins.

but no he wasn’t good enough.

We will just agree to disagree then :)

To me he was our most dangerous player. He doesnt have great ball control, but he moves well and he is real pain in the ass with his size and speed.

At first I thought he was realy realy lucky with the goals (before wolves game), but Im actualy convinced his movement and phyisical qualities will make him a formidable forward as long he gets good balls. He will end up with 20 goals+.

That 1v1 was realy shitty decision from him, but Im sure he will improve those. Even Aguero or Firmino missed those in younger years. Mbappe missed that sort of chance last year in CL.

Against Pool, he had that 1v1, a dangerous header and that fancy back heel. If he gets these kind of chances vs a team like Pool, he will rip many teams.

I hope you are right, regarding the number of goals, because his overall play is nowhere good enough at this level. Yeah probably a discussion about style and characteristics, but while physicality helps, skill is mandatory at this level, or at least the level we once competed at (cL). Tammy looks like an old school striker to me.

What I’m trying to say is that he will have to score very consistently if he has any hopes in retaining his starting spot once the window reopens for us. There are better, more skillful strikers out there who are attainable.

Now we need to go on a winning run, we need some momentum and start picking points on regular basis. This has been a really tough start but now we need victories and victories so everyone can breathe a little safer.

Looking at our fixtures, if we don't pick up 3/4/5 wins on the bounce over the next month or so, we will actually have to accept that we are, indeed, shit.

This is whats worrying. No game is a given. We can drop points in any. Expected to beat Sheffield and didn't so who knows. Depends if we can defend!

I don't think so, but this millimeter thing is silly.
Some time ago they were saying that same line is no longer to the advantage of the defense..

Some bloke on Twitter mathematically proved that VAR is accurate to something like 19.7cm, so why are they scrutinizing by millimetres if they technically can't actually prove it? All a nonsense and we were better off without it.
