I think the question is, does he do everything in his power to prevent these recurring injuries? Would losing some weight potentially help?

He looks heavy to me, perhaps not fat heavy, but surely very bulky.

Hamstring injuries are complicated. Surgery is even more complicated.

Given Real Madrid will likely prefer TAA on a free, I think we are stuck with him. As far as a reliable back up option for Gusto, we may need to bring in someone if Gilchrist/Acheampong aren't good enough.

Kounde.. Jesus no.

If Reece was that bothered he'd sign a deal to reduce his wages, that's where my frustration comes from, I can't speak to how he lives his life, diet etc but I do know he's drains us per week

Why on earth would he do that? Chelsea is a multinational company which took the risk when offering that contract to James, and James got injured during fulfilling his contract duties. After the damages he suffered in the last few years, he will clearly never be able to earn this much money again. Why is it him who should be generous? We are paying dozens of players on high wages.

One thing the news articles don't reveal is whether it's the same hamstring he had surgery on, or the other one.

I remember when he recovered from surgery, his surgeon mentioned that he would still be vulnerable on the leg that didn't have surgery.

You do realise players are insured for injury, right?

I wasn't at all. Thats the first time anyone's ever brought that up, the countless posts and stories that are written about injured players costing clubs X.

Yeah, it is something that amazes me. It shows how the media and group think can influence discourse. If thinking about things logically, if clubs/executives didn't insure for such large outlays, it would be a sackable offence in any industry.

The players however that are problematic are the ones that sign big contracts and aren't good enough. It is why I always respect players like Werner who leave cash on the table to go and play.
