Well that was quite the wake up call. City taught us a lesson, really.

-We really struggled to play through their press

-They easily played through ours

-Jorginho was stranded on an island in the middle because Cesc is zero help which forced Jorginho into really bad positions

-Sad to say that Azpi really struggles when he receives the ball under pressure

-There's a giant, Kante sized hole in midfield

-Morata & Pedro offered nothing at all in attack

-Barkley was very reserved and nervous to try anything.

-Defense was very shaky

We have a WHOLE LOT of work to do.

Midfield three failing miserably to track back. Way too much room 20 yards out from our goal. At least one needs to track back,

The distance between centrebacks and midfield is too big. Why are Luiz and Rudiger (and at times Azpi) sitting so far down. Can't play Sarriball with this type of setup

They are sitting far down because if they don't City will just loft the ball over them to Aguero or Sane the way they did a few times in the first half. Its how they have to play because the midfield is leaving them exposed.

Pep's lot are really showing us how we want to play. i'm more concerned about our lack of firepower and creation up front. We are not creating chances

Far from a fan of his but Chris Sutton just hit the nail on the head. This is a team coached for 2 years vs a team coached for 2 weeks. Add to that guardiola at least inherited from an attack minded manager in Pellegrini. Sarri has inherited our team from two of the most defensive coaches in world football.

This is going to take time and patience.
