He can only give short passes, but any pass with length is either too short, too far, or towards the stomach instead of ball to feet. Maybe I've been spoiled by the quality of fabregas in the past but they're not in the same league in passing. At least Fabregas could compensate his defensive flaws with his excellent passing ability but Jorginho can't do that. I would agree in some parts of your statement, but Jorginho's defensive contribution is underrated. I think in this thread, there are stats that prove my point. I still prefer having Cesc over Jorgi because Cesc and Hazard for many years solved our creativity problem. Mount and Jorgi clearly don't have the creative output of Cesc that is really needed at a top Club. When you look at Man City. They have David and Bernardo Silva, Mahrez, KDB and Gündogan. That is a insane level of creativity. We only have Kova that gives us a little bit of that. He is suspect since day one. Sarri biggest mistake was trying to create a team around Jorginho. Lampard's biggest mistake was emulating Sarri in using Jorginho as the main DM and deploying Kante to a more advanced position. Jorginho is certainly not without talent but he is more suited to a slower paced league. The midfield of Jorginho, Kante and Kova just does not work, so it's time to rip it up! Hopefully Loftus will be 100% for next season. Then we have Hakim to come in, so already the midfield is looking very different and more exciting for next season. !Hazard! 3,394 Posted March 3, 2020 Share Posted March 3, 2020 One of our main problems this season has been the ridiculous gap and empty space between central midfield and central defence. When the team presses high, we need the defence line to move higher up as well or else it all falls apart so easily and any midfielder, and especially a slower one like Jorginho, will look suspect in this type of setup. I don't quite understand how or why Lampard hasn't fixed this already.
