I have a number of previous posts on here with my belief that he would sign a new deal, and also supporting how Sarri developed him through the season.

When it was clear that he was going to play games, get paid well and likely replace Hazard why wouldn't he sign? Although a few have recently, historically very few English players move to play abroad unless its the only option. I know Sancho has gone there and done well but Bayern Munich is a step up from Dortmund and Sancho needed a year over there to truly break through. Also Sancho had already moved once from London to Manchester.

CHO has been here his whole youth career, won lots of trophies at youth level and has had a breakthrough season at 18 years old! If it was all about the benefit of his development and his career, to me we always looked the sensible and obvious option for him.

I'm delighted. At a time with Hazard leaving it's a huge shot in the arm for the club. Hopefully he can get back to full fitness, kick on and make Hazard's old spot in the team his own and that money then can be used on other areas of the squad.

I hope RLC is the next one now for a new deal. Whilst things perhaps look a little bleak at present with the managerial situation, transfer ban and Hazard leaving, I think there are some seriously exciting and high quality players within our squad and with a bit of patience and calm I see these developing into big players over the next couple of seasons and with a couple of quality additions when we get chance to I'm confident we'll be back challenging at the top again.

If we lose him too, we might aswell shut down the club.

And he should never be on 100k, not yet at least. He is 18 and he didnt show enough for that wage.

If the starting spot and #10 aint enough good reason to stay at club that made you...

I hate this current trend of throwing money at players, especially those that don't necessarily warrant it.

Playing time is all but guaranteed with Hazard's departure, so what are his real motives at this point?

100k a week would be daft to give to a guy who has played maybe 35 first team professional games. Give him the number 10 shirt yes and a new deal on £40k a week or something and assurances he will be a big part of the clubs future in the coming years. £100k would be incredibly naive and I dont think money was ever a priority for him, playing was, let him earn the chance to continue to grow here and not instantly give him a massive massive wage due to panicking because Bayern were apparently willing to offer him £80k a week or whatever.

If the guy wants to stay and I think he will, particularly if hes offered the number 10 shirt which would be a huge sign that he is considered very very important, then he will probably sign for an improvement on his current terms regardless if its £X amount more or whatever.

Hope the club make a smart decision regarding his wages though because if other youngsters play 30 games or so and then start demanding that sort of wages.... it could be bad for them and the club. Young guys need to work to prove themselves and shouldnt be handed hugely hugely lucrative contracts based on 1 season that many established players probably get.

With hazard gone you would think hudson-odi would have sign a new contract already maybe he's waiting to see who's the new manager is I still think he will leave the club  his head has been turned since the interest from Bayern Munich

He is not gonna join Bayern tho. They will either get Sane, Carrasco or another star winger. Add to that they have Coman, Gnabry, Afonso Davies and they sometimes employ Müller on the wing as well. Further they just brought up the Korean Jeong from their B-Team. So why would they play another youngster when they already have 4 wingers 23 or younger. Kovac has no real record of bringing up junior players either. CHO is not stupid, he should see through that. IMO, they have long given up on CHO and made other plans. They just keep taling about CHO to annoy us. CHO is either gonna sign that contract, which honestly he should. No better time or place for him right now with all the trust the club the club put him. With the transfer ban and Hazard having left, he has the chance to start for a top10 club in the world at 18 years. 100k is also more than he would earn at Bayern. He either is gonna sign the contract and become a star, which I think he will or he walks on a free next season and will never be heard of again.

You left out the true dagger in my little blue heart

If Bayern grab Nicolas Pepe (which truly makes sense for them a he is a Robben clone in terms of being a hyper-fast inverted left-footed right winger

Yup i still hope, they miss out on him. So far Bayerns plan A is to create FC Deutschland with Sane and Draxler above Carrasco, Pepe and CHO on thier wish-list.

Though i did not perceive pepe as hyper-fast. More like nippy but with supreme game intelligence and positioning so he might just read the game too well to be ever spotted in full sprint. Would love him too esp given how deadly he is and that we are lacking aleft footer.

Even if Pepe doesnt end up in Bayern, he will end up somewhere else. Its pretty clear Lille cant keep him anymore.

And we cant buy anyone, so he is not coming here sadly.

Thats true but if he goes to bayern we will never get him. If he goes to psg or Spain and fails we might get him. I would rather bayern sign an overrated player like Carrasco or Draxler and make the same mistakes as 2004 to 2010 and underinvest in average players but they seem to have learned their lesson and get proven quality. Runours are he prefers bayern tho whuch will probably conclude their interest in other wingers.

I hate how they usually get their targets quickly. When we were still splashing the cash and going places in the CL we cpuld attract top talent too. But now we are further sown the foos chain. Even without transfer ban we only get specialist signings like Jorginho, pulisic, Kepa, fabregas, costa before and not really the super hot commodities everyone wants.and i think only half of that is down to our lack of success as we had the same problem after our 2 recent title wins. I suspect our lack of ambition displayed by low balling, unprofessional negotiating and failure to get deals done as major reason top talent shuns us.

I think we could never get the hot commodities even in the best spending days. Kaka and the likes were always out of reach, as were the biggest talents.

But we were top dog in england and we could attract english players like Cole and we did business very smart. Buying less known players like Drogba who ended up world class.

We were also extremely lucky. So many players we bought ended up way way better than we ever expected. The ones we expected most though usualy flopped.

Looking at things today, we could easily buy Pepe, but our board is incompetent to do it (if we didnt have the ban).

Its true we no longer have the pulling power, but thats solely because we dont have any ambition anymore. If we started a project and bought two or three top level players, we would shown intention and our pulling power would increase. The result would be better squad, better results and most of players wanting to join us.

But we havent shown any dedicated ambition for years now. Just look at Sarri project. Promising but its over after a year. No player will come to such a turbulent club.

I have seen him blow past (both dribbling and then without the ball on a counter) all of these Ligue 1 speedsters

Bouna Sarr of Marseille (a RB who switched sides),

LB Ghislain Konan of Stade Reims

AMF Denis Bouanga of Nimes

LB Ferland Mendy of Lyon

RW Gelson Martins of Monaco

AMF Wahbi Khazri of Saint-Étienne

CB Benoît Badiashile of Monaco (Monaco has an insane amount of pacey players, but they are so raw,so so so young)

LW François Kamano of Bordeaux

LW Keagan Dolly of Montpellier

CB Marquinhos of PSG

LB Fodé Ballo-Touré of Monaco

RB Youssouf Sabaly of Bordeaux

those are all VERY pacey players

he is almost can keep pace with Mbappe,  (not quite, as no one in football atm that I have seen atm is close to being faster) t Mbappe has another gear no one playing topflight footie has
