Played very well last night when he came on for England. Firstly it showed what a complete hopeless waste it is for England to play both Henderson and Dier in the middle (who provide a combined creative outlet of exactly zero) but I was also impressed Barkley playing that little bit deeper more in a 4-2-3-1 formation which I believe is the way forward for Chelsea.

His work rate and honesty have always been there and he has improved tactically this season and can be more trusted to play in a disciplined manner. The problem is I believe it's gone too far the other way. When he plays for Chelsea he plays the safe ball too often, just trying to recycle possession when we need him to be more of a driving force and making things happen in the final third. 

The ability is there, I've no doubts about that and I still think for a homegrown England international in his mid 20's that £15m in the current climate is an absolute snip. He just needs the right role and manager to bring that extra out of him that he showed last night and hasn't been recently for Chelsea.

He is still only 25.. Let’s hope his best years are yet to come  He’s got the talent, a good coach and a good team around him may make him becoma a mature player.

Best man on the pitch..made the equalizer, with a great fk, scored  the goals that won the game and also released steling for no.4 albeit onöy vs Montenegro but with the right coach he could be a player that makes the difference,  surely not in sarris rigid tactical corset where he will always be average tho

"it's Montenegro but," well the most important thing is that it was against very weak opposition.

While I do like Ross and agree he can still improve becoming an important player for us, this performance means very little. The same applies to Odoi, but CHO fans will have a meltdown as usual.

So true. Barkley has put in fantastic performances against Europa league opposition as well.

I really want RLC to climb up the pecking order instead....even if Barkley is the more established of the two.

Thought it'd have broke in the papers as videos were doing the rounds on Twitter of him absolutely off his trolley and then the same evening reports of an England international doing nitrous and an assault.

Such a shame for Ross, his problems seem to have followed him down South, nightlife, women etc. Couldnt keep his head down.

Am assuming you were referring to this video?

If his t-shirt is any indication, guessing that happened on the same night the players went clubbing last week, which nothing bad happened going by the story.
