well, I was thinking Rudiger is hurt (no clue when he returns)

it is not a sure thing Happy comes back (Probably will)

Ampadu will probably go out on loan

and when Azpi is at RB

Imo, not only we can, but it is imperative that we offload him now, since i feel that we won't get many more chances to sell him past this summer. The way things are going with the ban and someone like Lampard as manager, we can forget about top 4 next season, so we might as well recall Baba and have him as a cover for Emmerson.

But knowing our stupid board, we are most likely going to keep him, i just hope that they will suprise me by doing the sensible thing just once.

yes we can

We have multiple options to back up Emerson

Baba (had a great loan spell at Stade de Reims), Jay Dasilva, and if he (he probably wont) nixes the perm deal to Torino, Ola Aina (who can play LB even though he is a RB primarily)

they all are far pacier than the turtle, all can cross the ball better

only way Alonso makes a lick of sense is if we go back to a wingback system, which is not going to happen

Atletico are letting Filipe Luis go apparently as he wants to move. Alonso would be a good fit for Atletico tbf, hes not the worst or best LB out there but he'd be steady for them, especially as they play with a deeper backline and more cohesively without the ball as we did. 35m would do the trick but we would be light at LB.

Too many questions about system and formation at this time to assess who or where players will play.

take last two seasons from Alonso as a hint. Regardless however one may rate, the difference was incredible. Some say it’s formation, but to me it’s always more the system than formation.

ask not where they are at the start of the game, but where and how they move during it.

I actually preferred him there to RB. His not so great attacking ability was emphasized due to Ivanovic, I reckon a dynamic RB and Azpi at LB would make. decent combination.
