robsblubot 3,595
Reckon Bats has Not been impressing conte in training. That's the only explanation for this kind of treatment. He has also not been impressing anyone in the few minutes he's got, so he should be working hard in practice to get more minutes - perhaps he's been lazy? gotta assume the guys who watch him daily see something, that I, who barely seen him play, don't. kmk108

Conte hasn't missed on any of his choices, so I'm going to trust him on it.
Leif 6,006
When Conte has shown so much quality and know-how, why wouldn't you trust his pristine wisdom that Michy simply isn't going to get goals for us? Adnane

goffus 16
It looked bad but i dont think Conte wanted to humiliate him. I think he just wanted to give Hazard his own standing ovation. He was even asking Courtois to kick the ball out the pitch but the ball was kept in play for like 4 / 5 minutes until the goal/end of the game. The coach had other plans for tonight but i m sure he still beleives in Michy. He ll get his chances sooner or later. blueblood22 and kmk108
Popular Post! Barbara 15,149 Posted December 26, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted December 26, 2016 I was pretty upset about the treatment he got, but then I read the interview and as I should have known, Conte knows what he is doing. It's not that he isn't confident on Bats yet, based on the interview he is, but he wants to keep that winning streak more than any of us (whether he will voice it or not) because he is the kind of manager that chases those records and he knows it is important for us to keep it up for as long as we can because someday it will come to an end and we must have collected as many victories as possible until then. So he chose to go with players that have been playing and deciding games (except Willian, that is) rather than throw the responsibility of filling Diego's shoes on Bats' back. I am ONE HUNDRED PERCENT SURE that he has been talking to Bats and although he is probably very frustrated right now - especially because he is still very young - I hope whatever Conte has been telling him is enough to keep him motivated. Conte closed the door for loans, and he said that if Michy doesn't make it here it's his failure as well. That's a man owing his responsibilities developing a kid such as Michy, but also a man addicted to winning, and right now his #1 priority is keep winning rather than developing any player. Some may think it's possible to have both, but I believe Conte is the kind of guy that doesn't want to take that risk unnecessarily. So I go against what I said myself (before reading the interview) about Michy and Conte, as well as a possible loan. His time will come, Conte will work on him, it's just that right now what matters the most is to keep the wins coming and Conte feels wearing the starting XI down is how he will accomplish it. As we don't have anything else going on except the FA Cup round next week, I think he can afford it. Also small injuries and suspensions already gave resting time fo Matic, Costa, Kanté and Hazard. I'll choose to keep trusting the coach and having my fingers cross for my Barbshuayi. blueblood22, BlueSunshine, goffus and 3 others
Azpinator 2,325
Was Michy a Conte signing or a board signing?

Michy signed for us when Conte was still Italy manager during the EURO 2016. He wasn't in any contact with Chelsea at that time I believe, focussing on the Italy team so. He said that himself that he would start working at and for Chelsea the moment Italy left the EURO'2016.  The situation is very easy to understand. Michy is simply not impressing Conte. Not during training as he never really makes any minutes but still feel bad for the lad as he really, really wants to play (for us).

I didn't mean that he's not working enough, just that he hasn't done enough for Conte to think he'd be worthy of a start.

Dude  He is a world class coach, but he doesn't play young players. No need to protect him for his weak points, especially when everybody considers him as one of the best coaches in the world. Which he definitely is.

Not sure he even got 2 seconds. This makes him feel even more useless because his role has been reduced to being a waste of time when it needs to be wasted (it wasn't needed at all this time, we were 3 ahead with stoppage time ending). Bring him on earlier or don't bring him on at all, why destroy his confidence even more? He must be off in January and a striker must be signed, because we can't have our backup striker to be this distrusted and Costa isn't made of steel.  11 hours ago, the wes said: I'm raging he didn't start ffs  I've been busy in recent months, then when I return I find people raging because Batshuayi didn't start the game, a game where the team won 3-0 and Pedro (the player who was playing in the role that was supposed to be Bat's one) scored twice. I don't get it people, sorry. The team is sitting on the top the league, Conte has been doing so great that Guardiola tried to emulate his back 3 defense, and you guys are mad because a player like Batshuayi is getting humiliated for getting 2 seconds for the leaders of the strongest league in the world.
