CHOULO19 24,332
I just watched a rerun of our match at WHL from the 10-11 season, and, my world, how much better was JT back then! I had honestly forgotten how good he was, mile better than the shadow of him we see today. Such a shame..

I'm also surprised at how much sharpness he has lost since the recent injury,...he was in much better form during the first half of the season. DH1988 1,348
Everyone always said injuries would eventually take their toll.Go back and watch our 04/05 + 05/06 seasons, Terry was undoubtedly one of the best CBs, if not the best at the time. Its not about pace before someone points out 'OMG OMG YEARS AGO' he's never been pacey at all it was his anticipations and positioning, he gets caught too square now, lax on concentration, lost that yard on his tackling where he dives in now. Rubber bullets 1,183
Guardian also reporting it -http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/may/10/john-terry-chelsea-galatasaray£12-15 million and they can have him. I mean it would be us ripping them off by selling them a defender who could any minute just stop working.

Hutcho 8,443
JT not for sale. Especially, when you consider the crap we have just clogging up the wage bill that is still here. We debate over 8 mil on a transfer like it's nothing and spend amazing sums, so I don't see why we should sell our captain either. Probably won't be first choice anymore. But there is not one player I would rather have on that pitch trying to defend a lead with 20 Mins to go. Now rafa is useless at subs, but Jose is not and he would probably manage him much better. Currently Chelsea do have others to replace him & Galata are prepared to pay him 150 thou per week for 3 years. Where else can he get that kind of money for 3 years ? Especially, when you consider the crap we have just clogging up the wage bill that is still here. But we are trying to be more sensible in this regard. Malouda and Benayoun will be gone (as might Lamps) and the players we sign are done with a focus on value. A substitute defender (which is what he has become) on £8 million per year doesn't make much sense. We debate over 8 mil on a transfer like it's nothing and spend amazing sums, so I don't see why we should sell our captain either. Personally I think this story is bullshit, and my first reaction was that Galatasaray surely aren't that stupid. If your reaction was similar, doesn't that tell you where John Terry is at this point in his career?

But right now he is still one of our best centre backs. And managed right under Jose, him and Luiz would probably be our first choice pairing... Now we would have to game select a bit more, but i don't see, that after the injury he has been terrible as some people seem to think. He has had some bad games, but also had some solid games. Which defender hasn't. butchercoat

Probably lots of foreign places, in a years time if we don't give him a year deal. Especially mls type leagues. Perhaps JT wouldn't want to go to gala anyway. I don't know if he's as important as he once was.And I doubt anyone in the MLS would pay that much for him, especially with some of his character issues. Earning double what he'd probably get here has got to be a temptation.
