King11Didier 916
It may make sense, but I'm pretty sure the club offered him extension of the contract firstly. Maybe that's why the talks have stalled for so long, maybe Conte didn't want to commit himself for longer, as he sees almost the same problems here, as in his Juve period. The Don just accepted a pay rise, so there was no chance of him declining that, but he probably refused an extension. He totally deserves it, he made miracles with this team last season, if he is able to go far in UCL and fight for the PL title this year, then he will definitely prove himself as one of the best, at least for me. But looking at what the board gives him this season, I can't see that happening. Supermonkey92
El P. 1,354
You guys also need to realize this: When he was at Juventus, they didn't back him enough in transfer market, so eventually he left. But, in the times when transfer market was still normal! In this days you cannot get quality player for less than 45 millions. Our penny pinching? Nothing in comparison with the cheap transfers Juventus did in Conte's time. Be sure that Conte is aware of that, he said himself last year that "market is crazy" and that it's so hard to bring quality for normal price. This 2 years "extension" has nothing to do with that. He is just careful, our board is too. Fernando and Supermonkey92

Magic Lamps 11,692
Just now, xPetrCechx said: wait with it... I have reached a status of resignation in which I can not even celebrate a striker coming anymore. I have mentally prepared for a season with Remy and Michy as our strikeforce so I can not be disappoined. The only one to stop this deal now is Morata. Real want him gone and will be more than happy to take those 70 fucking million for him which are about doulbe he is worth. xPetrCechx

xPetrCechx 13,571
Both parties are happy with the two-year deal and believe there is plenty of time to talk over a longer contract in the future. [Standard] However, Antonio Conte did not commit to staying any longer than his previous contract, which expires in 2019. [Standard] Conte’s new contract included a pay rise to £9.5million after winning the Premier League in his first season with the club. [Standard] #Chelsea are still planning to offer Antonio Conte a contract extension in the future, despite him signing a new two-year deal. This isn't even an extension. This is a pay rise to say thank you to Conte for winning the Premier League last season and that's it. No long-term project or anything. Nothing. I'm getting so incredibly tired of Chelsea. Maybe it's for the best that our shady, crooked owner gets busted and he fucks off to a Russian gulag and we get an owner who's not only good at sacking managers, but also good at actually running a football club with the right people. People who are going to bash on me for saying these things about Abramovich have no morals. Look up on the mans history. I don't care how much money he has spent for Chelsea or whatever, I cannot like the man. Love the place I work for, but I greatly dislike my employer. I like Chelsea, just not the owner and his incompetent henchmen. Have fun everybody. Might see some of you on the ManCity forum soon. Peace. bandwagon fan, so now that we´ve signed Morata you´ve changed your mind? so fickle, go ahead and join City RoyalBlues and Fernando

You can believe what you wanna believe and I'm never certain, but there's a large part of me that is thanking the likes of Paul Pogba for the benefit of CFC getting CONTE'S CHOICE instead of "the club's choice" or whoever it is precisely that wanted Lukaku --WHOEVER IT WAS THAT INTENDED TO SIGN LUKAKU INSTEAD OF OUR OVER-ACHIEVING MANAGER'S CHOICE STRIKER. hmm...
