The Mourinho Thread

Btw, I heard part of Drogba's interview which will be on in full on Sky today before the CL matches. The media is just putting words in his mouth. He praised Jose, but when asked if Jose will be the next Chelsea manager he replied jokingly "Maybe it will be me". It's a complete non-story, imo.

Get where you're coming from but have you read his interviews elsewhere and not just in Sky Sports? There is a reason why the media published what they did, non-story or not.

I actually watched the interview. It was mainly about Galatasaray vs Madrid and how he's going to face Jose. But the media just took the parts relating to the "hot" topic atm.

Any surprises? Given he is facing Mourinho again, the media are bound to ask him questions about it. He said what he wanted to about his relationship with Jose etc and the media just reported the way it is. It's not like they twist his words or anything and it just so happens this comes at a time when all this Mourinho are running rife. Just don't see what is wrong with it, whether it adds to the story or not.

What's wrong with it that some papers title the article "Drogba wants Mourinho bac at Chelsea" then the next "Drogba tips special one for blues return" and it ends up looking like Didier said that he thinks/knows that Jose will return when in fact that's not the case.

I'd actually like Materazzi. heh. I always like assistant managers to either be English or Italian for some reason. I guess just so the whole 'balance' and 'defence' part of the game isn't forgotten.

It's probably just a rubbish rumour, In fact I'm very confident that it is, but they really did have a special connection at Inter. It would work well IMO.

Italian sources are suggesting Marco Materazzi could be Jose Mourinho’s assistant manager if he returns to Chelsea next season. #CFC

The point of an ASSISTANT manager is to ASSIST. Materazzi would do anything for Jose. He would assist him well. Some random ex-Chelsea player or out of job assistant manager wouldn't do anything for Jose.

Chelsea - Steve Clarke

Inter - Guiseppe Baresi

Real Madrid - Aitor Karanka

Chelsea (?) - Materazzi

3 defenders, one defensive midfielder/defender (and brother of possibly the greatest defender of all time).

Could be reporters putting 2+2 together. He is a defender and Jose does get on with him but I don't know enough about him to express an opinion either way.

Maybe JT could've been an option, or we'd finally snare Maldini like we've been told we would for about 15 years now.
