Was like just rotating positions with others since we suddenly saw Azpi and Ivanovic popped up so far in the final third and a bit of nowhere.He was actually our number 10 in one of the attacks. Because he didnt play bad this season, at least as good as Iva and Mou had no real reason to bench him. Azpi and Cole would fit much better against small teams, but again if he was injured he obviously couldnt play...Imo Cole is good enough to be backup at least next season, pairing with younger LB (Shaw?) and teaching him few things. But if he isnt in Mou plans, than no point in having him here...I have feeling if he moves to Rm, he will for some reason become first choice, at least in big games. Thats exactly why we might just keep him for another season. Mou made Cole look like a LB who is not able to play 45min anymore, but I feel he could be useful in big games, even next year. Just remember Lpool game this season, Cole still has ability IMO. Azpi should completely focus on RB next season and Cole would be superb backup to the new LB. manpe 10,861 Posted April 20, 2014 Share Posted April 20, 2014 I miss him very much. It pains me seeing Ivanovic getting 3 touches every single attack when we're trying to break teams down. The full-backs are super important against deep defensive teams in building up attacks, because more often than not they get the most space to operate and it was very clear against Sunderland, our full-backs got probably the most passes from our midfielders. Ash on the left and Dave on the right would be so much better in certain games in my opinion. I think this is one of our weakest points and one of the reasons we struggle against defensive teams - we are relying on a centre-back and a right back playing on the left to break teams down.I mean what the fuck, Ash can't be so bad, can he? The last two games he played (both against stoke i believe) he was very lively and useful. Therefore i'm happy he played 0 minutes on Saturday, right choice by Mourinho. And we get to finally see Azpi in his right side after a long time and underline some notes.
