The closer it gets to the deadline the more I'm starting to feel the same. Though Schürrle being totally out of the squad for the last couple of matches would be strange if we weren't at least trying to move him.

Exactly 5m is a lot. If Fiorentina can milk 5m out of Chelsea for being stubborn then other clubs will start. For the last 2/3 years the club has played hardball with transfers, they can't go soft now.

While I'm not bothered at all about Cuadrado and Douglas, I do think we are taking FFP compliance too far. surely we can afford to spend up to 50m and still be within the limits if the fees are ammortised without having to sell players to fund it. We are playing it too safe honestly.
