RoyalBlues 4,050
Let's judge everything about him next season. If he is still struggling, January judgement will take place.
Tomo 21,751
It seems as if his biggest problem right now is simply the intensity and physicality. He seems to almost always be unaware that he is being pressed.Like DYC said, I can only hope he comes back a different player after the summer because signs don't look good.He has the talent but as you alluded to seems to want too much time on the ball, I think he has had a bit of a culture shock in England but I hope it can be ironed out in the summer, although a complete different position I remember Evra looking horrible in his first 6 month's at United but he worked out ok.If he's still playing like this come January then cut our looses and get rid (or get rid off the competition, make up excuses and build the team around him in the hope he comes good )
Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
I seriously believe this transfer only happened because Reus just had to go sign that contract extension...I really hope we still go buy a top winger this summer, otherwise, they'll be a lot of anxious people.... It wasn't exactly the same hustle and bustle as the Prem but the Italian league and PL... there is a huge huge difference, absolutely huge. That's one of the reasons I thought he'd possibly be struggle as well as the fact he played his best stuff for Fiorentina in a role behind the striker this year with a lot of freedom. Gervinho and Salah in England in comparison to Gervinho and Salah in Italy, different players... Cuadrado in Italy, Cuadrado in England, same thing. There isn't the time on the ball that he wants also how many times has he took a touch and passed it back in his Chelsea career so far? Or so it looks. Also physically, he looks very very lightweight, I know its not a huge difference these days in comparison to 30 years ago when players where literally booted off the park but still certain wingers as well as smaller players in this league (height wise), like Hazard, Silva, Mata, Moreno, Ayoze Perez, Sterling etc although they are 5 ft 6 to 5 ft 9 or whatever they aren't actually that physically weak (and are still perhaps working on it like Pardew was quoted saying about Perez earlier in season having done some gym work to cope with demands). Think Cuadrado could do with it a bit because he will get hit in this league and like we've seen with Hazard, Sanchez and other wingers like Ronaldo, Robben in the past, he will get hit hard too. The Mak 4,459
I've come to the conclusion in the past few weeks that I'm just going to put my neck on the line and, sadly, call him a big floppy stocking of s**t and that we've been completely mugged off on this one. It seems like he has the mentality of a youth player and just isn't cut out for adapting to a much tougher league. Not to mention the fact of his age and his record before hand is, let's face it, pretty stark average. Below average even. One good season in Serie A and a one good WC does not a good player make. Just look at Willian tonight for fuck sake, Cuadrado is currently a million miles away from that level. He couldn't be any further from him if he tried.I can see why there was talk of Mourinho wanting to bring back Moses before going for this guy. I hope I'm completely wrong, and everyone here has the right to shove it down my throat if I am, but the future looks bleak...

BlueLion. 21,491
I think he looked quite lively when he came on. He seriously needs to bulk up a bit, however, he is far too easily knocked off the ball.
LAM09 7,056
He always wants to try and beat a man with skill to no avail. I personally can't see him being here next year at this time, as he was bought to add to the numbers.

That's what a few of us were concerned about. And that is exactly why age matters: far easier to bulk up a 22yo than a 26yo.However I'm just not that crazy about his technique as his control of the football is just not up there with our starters.Saw the same during the WC where he was ok (against poor opposition). Tomo 21,751
Only if he gets three more appearances.Only need 5 these days, furthermore the club are getting allocated 40 medals that they can distribute how they see fit, there's even talk of RLC getting his mits on one. Pizy 18,914
He just looks terrified whenever he gets the ball. Like he doesn't have an ounce of confidence. He's been failing so hard to beat a man since he's been here that he really doesn't even try anymore. He just gets it and immediately passes it off. stroey 2,525
Confidence and pressure are the big issues, he doesn't have the close control of Eden and Willian but he certainly can dribble. He completed (one of the) most dribbles in serie A, can't see him suddenly becoming a noob at it. Hopefully we can see him expressing himself in the last games of the season, like he did yesterday when we were 3-1 up.
bababoom 4,478
We just have to give him time, it's true he has looked awful but lets judge him next season when he's fully settled in.
Thor 2,711
I'm hoping after we beat Palace that he gets the rest of the starts for the season. It is a confidence thing, and maybe a little bit of adjusting to the physicality. You don't go from being the best/one of the best dribblers in another league to not being able to do anything on the pitch. We've seen this before with a few players, and not just on our team; wanting to do to much when they get on the field, then when that doesn't work out, they lose confidence, when they shouldn't because they were trying to go above and beyond to begin with. At the end of the day, it is football, no matter what league you play in. He clearly is a talented player, just struggling with confidence. Saying that, I haven't been completely confident with his play either, and I am getting impatient myself, but at the same time trying to understand his position. Footballers are rarely big but obviously the few kgs that take you from skinny to slim make a huge difference esp for wide players. However, age does not matter that much for bulking up as testosterone maintains a high level men from their late teens until at least our 30ies. It is still very very easy for a 26 year olds to put on 10kg within a year, esp for someone so skinny as Cuadrado.
CHOULO19 24,332
Can't really make any arguments for him right now because he just seems to be doing everything wrong at the moment. Don't know if it can all be blamed on confidence or physical readiness, but he seriously needs to make a 180 degrees change because right now a lot of our youth players will probably offer A LOT more to the team than what Cuadrado is. !Hazard! 3,394
Loan him to Everton next season and give the youth a chance! Traore has developed a lot this season in Vitesse and could possibly be a squad player next season. And I am dying inside if we do not see a single glimpse of Boga next season. The lad has Hazard-levels of talent.
